In addition to the mask with RGB lighting, Razer presented at CES a futuristic and complex gaming station concept with OLED display and gaming chair with advanced features
of Rosario Grasso published on 14 January 2021 , at 18: 31 in the Peripherals channel Razer
Razer showed the concept at CES 2021 Project Brooklyn , a new convertible gaming chair . This is a state of the art solution, made of carbon fiber with RGB lighting , which easily transforms into an immersive gaming station complete with panoramic images produced by a wrap-around OLED display from 60 “, compelling tactile feedback integrated into the seat and 4D armrests that slide to form adjustable surfaces dedicated to peripherals.
The gaming chair is connected directly to the display and uses high-density foam cushions and a leather stitched back made of a sturdy carbon fiber body. The adjustable platform on which the chair is installed is complete with cable guides and is inspired by the Razer Raptor monitor. The station uses an OLED display. More information on Project Brooklyn can be found on the Razer website.
At CES Razer also presented Project Hazel, the goggle with RGB lighting.

Apple seems to be sideloading iOS apps on ARM Macs a thorn in the side: Code in the latest pre-release version of macOS Big Sur 11. 2 indicates that Apple wants to block a popular workaround that has so far made it possible to install iPhone and iPad apps on Macs whose developers have objected to Apple making their software available under macOS.
New warning notice In interfaces around DRM functions of the operating system is in the beta 2 from macOS 11. 2 apparently new code to be found: An added warning informs that an app cannot be installed because “the Developer did not plan to run on this platform “as 9to5Mac quoted from the code. It is currently in beta 2 of macOS 11. 2, however, it is still possible to sideload any iOS apps on the Mac.
For the first time, iOS apps can be run natively on Macs with Apple’s M1 chip. You can download it directly from Apple’s Mac App Store, but the programs only appear there if the developer does not object. It has long been suspected that Apple wants to intervene, so far there has been no concrete announcement.
Many iOS apps are missing in the Mac App Store Many major app providers and services have blocked their apps for macOS, including Instagram, Netflix and Gmail. Often there are good reasons for this, after all, these iOS versions are in no way adapted for Macs and may be difficult to use with the mouse and keyboard, may not work properly or may simply crash.
For a variety of reasons, other app providers may prefer their services to be used in the browser on Macs. However, it can be advantageous for the user to use an iOS app on the Mac if it offers certain advantages – be it the possibility of downloading videos or maps for offline use or simply a user interface that is opposite preferred for the web app.
The first buyers of the M1 Macs quickly discovered last November that apps had already been downloaded onto iPhones and iPads can be easily installed and executed as .ipa files on the ARM Macs. Extracting the .ipa files is possible with the help of tools like iMazing.

The Italian telephone company introduces itself again before the judge. The charge is a crime of computer fraud. The “zero click” banners that activate paid services in which customers often fall unconsciously have been indicted. The Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office seizes in advance 21, 2 million euros
by Lorenzo Tirotta published 14 January 2021 , at 16: 58 in the Telephony channel WindTre WIND
The famous Italian telephone company is was again recalled in front of the judge after the accusation of the Milan prosecutor , which started an investigation. “Competition in computer fraud ” is the crime indicted against the telecommunications company, as the Corriere writes, to which have been seized in advance 18 million euro , or “the percentage forfeited by Wind for the services activated peacefully with fraudulent modalities until November 2018 by the companies producing contents Brightmobi and Yoom for the through the Pure Bros technology platform. “.
WindTre in the storm, the crime: computer fraud
Wind had already been accused of the fraud scandal technology last summer, where there were well 000 under investigation including 3 company executives. The July lesson does not seem to have been served to the company that, in the past few hours, has fallen back into the storm of illicit business to the detriment of customers. It often happens to see paid services and subscriptions such as gossip, horoscopes or music activated, without the customer’s consent . These fraudulent services are strictly prohibited , and are activated via a mechanism called “machine to machine” which is able to circumvent the consent procedure by the customer. Subscriptions “click zero” for a fee yes they activate automatically even if the deceptive banner is not clicked. That’s right, it is enough to visit the offending web page that the subscription has already started on the customer’s telephone account. Wind defends itself by stating that it has already reimbursed their customers for an amount equal to 20 million euros with an adjoining block of paid services. The power of attorney confirms Wind’s thesis but specifies that the reimbursements are of no relevance as they are made in 2019, or after the investigation period, dated November 2018.
According to the estimates, the large telephone companies make a significant profit from these rounds of illicit money, figures that exceed one billion euros every year . If the previous seizures by the content companies Brightmobi and are also considered Yoom , WindTre had a total of 38 million euros . It is curious to note that after the intervention of the Milan public prosecutor the activation of these deceptive paid subscriptions has decreased from approximately 40. 000 per day for only 100 per day .

In the plethora of earphones True Wireless Stereo arriving from China, some products know how to stand out for quality and innovation. The Soundcore brand products belong to this group (as we also told you in this article dedicated to the TWS in-ear headphones), which is part of the extended galaxy of brand of Anker .
The latest novelty took advantage of the virtual CES showcase to show off and promises to stand out from the crowd again. Soundcore Liberty Air 2 Pro are the new proposal of totally wireless in-ear headphones: they offer Active Noise Canceling technology and were created in collaboration with some Grammy Award winning prizes with the intent of providing a color-free sonic response even when the Active cancellation of external noise is activated .
In line with the best products on the market, the active noise cancellation promises to be adaptive and modify its response according to the situations of use, whether you are on a plane, working in a cafe or on a walk around town. Soundcore has also paid a lot of attention to the clarity of telephone calls, integrating 6 microphones for earphones, two integrated in the rod and two in the upper part, to better pick up the voice and eliminate background noise even from phone calls. The other two microphones are placed inside the earphones and allow to eliminate the residual noise that could filter out.
Very interesting then seems to be the HearID function , which with a short ‘exam’ of your hearing allows you to create a customized audio profile . In addition, the app will also provide 22 equalization presets and a customizable equalizer.
The earphones declare a 7 hours autonomy per charge and with the case can offer up to 26 total hours of autonomy . The earphones are already available at the price of 129. 99 ?? in four colors.

?? Nikon D 3500 and Nikon D 5600 may be out of production soon, according to the company’s Japanese website. In their place, APS-C mirrorless cameras could arrive that will position themselves below Nikon Z 50. ?
We would like to point out right away that on the Italian website of Nikon , the two cameras are still present in the product catalog “purchasable” , but the information coming from Japan seems assume that Nikon D 3500 and Nikon D 5600 may soon be out of production. This will expand the range “downward” for APS mirrorless -C?
Nikon D 3500 and Nikon D 5600 will they be out of production?
Even if there is no is an official announcement by the Japanese company, on the manufacturer’s website (in Japanese) you can read that the two models are considered “old products” . This should mark the start of their production outage as stocks run out internationally.
Both Nikon D 3500 that Nikon D 5600 are two models that use a sensor in APS-C format (Nikon DX) and which were announced in 2018. This is a low-end model and a medium-low-end model that promised good features but focusing in particular on the decidedly affordable price.
But, as we know, the market is not going particularly well in recent years (despite the more comforting data from the end of 3500). Rationalizing your product line, pushing in the direction of the most profitable ones (even looking at the lenses) is certainly a common strategy.
This could mean sacrificing a camera that still sells well like the Nikon D 5600 and also an entrance solution without a real replacement. While some rumors about two new DSLRs surfaced last year, these shouldn’t be substitutes for the outgoing models. Nikon is expected to have a new APS-C mirrorless camera that will sit below the Nikon Z 50 with a more affordable price (which could be called Nikon Z 30). It will be interesting to see how the new strategy of the manufacturer evolves, as a response to the very fierce competition.

There are many news that Microsoft is setting up on Windows 10, with debut expected by the end of 2021, and one of them is a new “floating” Start Menu. Here’s how it could be based on a first concept
by Nino Grasso published 14 January 2021 , at 12: 21 in the Operating Systems channel Microsoft Windows
The Windows Insider team returned last week from the Christmas holidays releasing the first Windows build 10 beta of 2021, which introduced several new features on the operating system. Selected Dev channel insiders can indeed see a new display mode for news on the taskbar, but by 2021 there will be many other news that we will see on Windows 10 , also and above all on a stylistic level.
Microsoft’s operating system restyling by the end of the year is not an absolute novelty and, with the internal name of Sun Valley, the company is considering introducing a major Windows redesign 10 already for the update 21 H1 expected for the second half of the year. Panos Panay himself spoke last year about accelerating innovation on Windows 10 , confirmed by a Microsoft job announcement in recent days in which the newcomer to the company will have to send a clear public message: “Windows is BACK”.
Windows 10, the new design by end 2021?
The message will be accompanied by “a radical visual renewal of Windows experiences “, but the new plan that has never been formalized. In the meantime, however, Windows Central’s Zac Bowden has shared a series of concept screenshots showing some of the details that will be changed, based on his information. Among these, the new Start Menu with rounded corners and separated from the taskbar immediately catches the eye.
The new Floating Start Menu appears as a draggable window above the toolbar applications, according to Bowden’s first mockup, and perhaps it can be moved by the user to an arbitrary point on the screen. Other parts of the operating system could also undergo the same treatment, giving a less edgy look to the UI.
According to Bowden we will see other news, such as on the feature Snap Assist which will consider each tab open on Microsoft Edge as individual windows. Snap Assist is the gesture that allows you to move the foreground apps to the right or left, or in the corners of the screen (with Win + directional arrows). The function will be redesigned to manage the individual Edge tabs, and to remember the settings for each app when connecting or disconnecting an external display.
Sun Valley will introduce, according to the source, a new simplified taskbar , similar to the one that will be implemented on Windows 10 X and a new screen on battery usage in Settings. Finally, a new “dashboard” feature should be introduced in the Tasks screen which includes some information about personal or work or school Microsoft accounts, such as recently used Office documents or appointments marked on the Calendar.
It is not certain that all the functions will be implemented on the operating system in the final version, or if we will see them already in the coming months within a Windows Insider build 10. Microsoft has not yet officially talked about Sun Valley, and the new Insider builds – as per the company’s new modus operandi – will not introduce features that are specific to an exact version of Windows 10. The 2021 will still be an important year for Microsoft.
L ‘arrival of Windows 10 X on the first alternative devices to Chromebooks with Google operating system will mark the the beginning of a new era for the Redmond company and for the design of its software. It will be to be seen what will be the footprint that Panos Panay will leave on the Windows environment, all in search of the stylistic coherence that has always been the Achilles heel of the latest version of the OS.

Xiaomi’s cheap smartband is sold for only 14 ?? on offer, with a discount of 36% compared to its original price list. This is one of those promotions not to be missed (really), but we warn you that it is about to expire
of Editorial staff published on 14 January 2021 , at 06: 01 in the Wearables channel Xiaomi
The Xiaomi Mi Band 4C is now on offer at 14, 06 ?? on GearBest. It is a smartband, a gadget that you probably don’t miss but which, once tried, you can hardly do without it. It reproduces the timetable (only on-demand, when needed, to save on battery), and helps with an endless series of activities, starting from the simple receipt of notifications, up to the most advanced functions related to fitness.
At the price of 14?? it is absolutely worth giving it a chance, and on this page we give you 5 reasons not to miss the opportunity. Badly, you can still give it to your cousin, making him happy!
Buy here Xiaomi Mi Band 4C a 14, 06 ??
1. The price
14, 06 ?? and are you still thinking about it? On Amazon at this price you often find only junk, to be honest , which you will hopelessly leave to collect dust in the drawer after an initial trial period. Xiaomi Mi Band 4C is instead a concrete product, designed to offer all those essential and useful functions for all users. It usually costs little, but with the current offer on GearBest it becomes an absolute best-buy !
2. Comfortable 24 and waterproof
Unlike a smartwatch, the Xiaomi Mi Band 4C is designed to be worn all day, and even night. It protrudes slightly from the wrist and weighs only 13 grams , without strap. You will hardly feel it during the vast majority of daily activities and it can also be used during pool activities. All with a youthful design, with the possibility of combining up to four different colored straps: in addition to black we have orange, green and blue.
3. Autonomy and fast recharge
Lots of bulky, heavy and uncomfortable smartwatches offer autonomy about a day (sometimes even less). Sure, they have a lot more features, but tell the truth: how many do you really need? Xiaomi Mi Band 4C has the essential functions (those that are then needed by everyone) and guarantees an effective duration of 14 days of use. And when it’s about to run out, just plug it in via USB to a charger for about two hours to get full charge again.
4. Lots of useful functions for everyone
Xiaomi’s cheap smart band connects via Bluetooth 5.0 , is resistant to liquids up to 50 meters deep and has a heart rate monitor integrated, working 24 hours a day. If connected to a smartphone it can receive all notifications , such as calls, SMS, other types of messages from other apps, reminders and appointments, and much more. It also supports monitoring of five fitness activities , such as step counting, running, cycling, treadmill sessions or free movement. Through a dedicated app on your smartphone you can then monitor all your progress, or receive reminders on when to continue with your workouts.
Obviously, the
sleep monitoring , and there is also a integrated media player with which to listen to music (via Bluetooth headphones). We then have a reminder after a certain period of inactivity and also the weather forecast! Do you really need anything else?
5. The large luminous display
Last, but certainly not least , the large display. How wide? 1, 08 inches, with resolution of 128 x 220 pixels, certainly interesting values for a smart bracelet. Sure, it’s not an OLED, but the much higher maximum brightness won’t make you regret the better blacks of organic LED technology, especially in bright sunlight. The Mi Band 4C can be used in all circumstances, even and especially outdoors, without any hindrance.
All for only 14, 06 ?? , we repeat it, but only if you make the purchase in these hours. Xiaomi Mi Band 4C can be purchased at this address , on GearBest.

The Taiwanese company has published a ‘image on Weibo referring to the launch of an upcoming ROG Phone, less than a year after the launch of the latest model
of Nino Grasso published on 14 January 2021 , at 11: 31 in the Telephony channel ASUS ROG
The gaming smartphones must keep pace with technological evolution and, now that Snapdragon 888 is public and available to partners, it’s time to update the current models. Xiaomi has already started to spread the first teasers of the next Black Shark branded device, and a short distance away ASUS also started talking about the next ROG Phone .
The first teaser of what it should be ROG Phone 4 was published on the official Weibo channel, and is an image that depicts a smartphone seen from its front and virtually frameless. We know that gaming smartphones have never been big benchmarks in this regard, and we doubt the image will represent a realistic version of ASUS’s next gaming phone . However, it is likely that the new device will suffer a reduction of the frames compared to the current models, perhaps approaching traditional phones.
We remind you that ROG Phone 3 was officially launched at the end of July, and is one of the most prominent devices in the gaming smartphone category with its 144 Hz OLED display and more powerful version with Snapdragon 865 +, as well as the availability of several gaming accessories that take the mobile gaming experience to another level than to other more generalist devices. We doubt that for the new model we will have to wait until next July: usually ASUS starts the “teaser” campaign a few months before the launch of a new device, and for ROG Phone 4, therefore, there will be a maximum of two to wait or three months.
These are still suppositions, since we do not yet have official information on the Taiwanese company’s next gaming smartphone other than the image appeared on Weibo that says little or nothing, apart from the anticipation – certainly welcome – of the reduction of the frames.

The medium-sized CUV represents the first model of the new IONIQ brand, dedicated to electric vehicles, and will be the first vehicle built on the E-GMP platform
of Rosario Grasso published on 14 January 2021 , at 11: 11 in Technology channel Hyundai
Hyundai unveiled the first teaser images of IONIQ 5 , the new version of the CUV (SUV crossover) which set the pace in the fully electric vehicle segment, making the manufacturer Korean one of the most avant-garde. IONIQ 5 will be the first vehicle built on Hyundai’s E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform) platform, an innovative system designed exclusively for next generation battery electric vehicles.
Hyundai IONIQ 5, the first images
The front of IONIQ 5 is enriched by a series of pixel-shaped lights that give a suggestion of the digital technology present inside. The IONIQ 5 is also the first Hyundai vehicle to feature a clamshell front hood that spans the full width of the car, minimizing gaps between the body panels and creating an overall clean, high-tech look.
The design theme Parametric Pixel is taken up in the aerodynamic design of the 20 ????, the largest ever proposed on a Hyundai electric car. This name was chosen precisely because the Hyundai designers decided to take inspiration from the pixels of computer graphics.
There are no definitive specifications yet on the new CUV, but according to rumors it will have a battery capable of guaranteeing ?? autonomy up to 550 km , while the fast reload will reset 100 km of autonomy in 5 minutes. Hyundai’s future vehicle will also equip a 3.5 kW charging socket specific for external devices: this will allow you to recharge laptops, cameras, smartphones and even another electric car .
A range of vehicles will be built on Hyundai’s E-GMP modular electric platform, namely the IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6 and IONIQ 7 models , following the pattern of even numbers for sedans and odd numbers for SUVs.

Samsung’s Galaxy S21 phones are official. The firm took the wraps off its Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra during its Galaxy Unpacked event, where it also unveiled the Galaxy Buds Pro true wireless earbuds.
The event, which took place a month earlier than usual, was of course virtual, but that didn’t stop Samsung from giving chapter and verse on its new Galaxy S Series.
The headline news: the flagship S21 Ultra sports the S-Pen that was until now exclusive to the company’s big-screen Note phones, such as the Note 20 Ultra, and features an even more highly-specified 108MP quad camera. The Galaxy S21 range features cameras capable of shooting 8K video at 24fps, and a new camera bump design for a refreshed aesthetic.
Could the Galaxy S21 not only prove the company’s best yet but also rise above the latest flagship Sony Xperia 1 II to claim the best phone plaudits? We certainly wouldn’t bet against it.
Galaxy S21 price and release date
The Galaxy S21 5G will be available in Phantom Violet, Phantom Grey, Phantom Pink and Phantom White finishes, available with 8GM RAM in 128GB (£769, $799) and 256GB (£819) storage options.
The Galaxy S21+ 5G comes in Phantom Violet, Phantom Silver and Phantom Black options with 8GB RAM and 128GB (£949, $999) or 256GB (£999) storage sizes.
And lastly, the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is available in Phantom Black and Phantom Silver, coated in a ‘frosted haze’ matte finish. Phantom Titanium, Phantom Navy and Phantom Brown are additional finishes available exclusively on Samsung.com. RAM and storage pairings are as follows: 12GB RAM with 128GB (£1149, $1199), 16GB with 256GB (£1199), and 16GB with 512GB (£1329).
Galaxy S21 pre-orders are open immediately for all three phones, with shipping beginning on 29th January.
Galaxy S21 series: camera
We found the camera on last year’s Galaxy S20 to be a real highlight, so the fact that Samsung has improved its excellent software for the S21 series is promising. Single Take, which creates a portfolio of all the best moments you capture in one shot (useful when scrolling through options to upload to Instagram), enters a 2.0 version, now using five times more AI processing for the promise of even better results. There’s Dynamic Slo-Mo, as well as a Highlights Reel, the idea being that you don’t need to edit shots yourself.
Portrait Mode has been improved (you can now alter the lighting or your backdrop), as has Space Zoom, which now has a lock to neutralise shaky hands at 30x zoom. The new Director’s View mode lets you simultaneously view both the front and rear cameras in your viewfinder, with all of the lenses available to easily switch between. Vlogger view, meanwhile, lets you simultaneously capture from both the front and back lenses, so you can shoot something while, say, documenting your own reaction.
8K at 24fps video recording is onboard, with 8K Video Snap allowing you to capture high-res photos when playing your videos back. And this is the first time 4K filming at 60fps is achievable through all lenses.
While the Galaxy S21 and S21+ have triple-lens snappers (a 12MP ultra-wide, 12MP wide and 64MP telephoto) and a 10MP front shooter, the Ultra takes things further once again. We’re looking at Samsung’s “most advance Pro-grade cameras yet” here. There’s still a quad rear configuration here, but the main 108MP wide lens is new and promises 64x richer colours and three times wider dynamic range. That’s complemented by 12MP ultra-wide and two 10MP telephotos.
That dual-telephoto system (one 3x optical, one 10x optical) powers the Ultra’s 100x Space Zoom, with the lenses automatically switching according to the distance from your subject. And with a new Bright Night sensor, improved Night Mode, noise reduction and 12MP Nona-binning technology, Samsung is promising its “biggest leap yet in low-light photography”. We look forward to trying all that out for ourselves.
Galaxy S21 series: screen
The camera lens bump marks the biggest design tweak for the S21 family, with the contoured cut-out blending into the device’s metal frame on the top left corner. It certainly gives the body’s rear a sleeker, more streamlined look.
The front of the phone shouldn’t let the side down either, their ‘Dynamic AMOLED 2x’ screens supporting 120Hz in 6.2in FHD+ (S21), 6.7in FHD+ (S21+) and 6.8in WQHD+ (S21 Ultra) sizes, and featuring a new Eye Comfort Shield that automatically adjusts blue levels.
The Ultra boasts the “best display Samsung has ever created”, offering that maximum refresh rate even in maximum resolution quality. Samsung is promising 25 per cent more brightness (the peak is an eye-dazzling 1500 nits) and double the contrast of the S20 Ultra’s screen. Bold.
Of course, that display is at the mercy of your fingertips – or the S-Pen, as it hits the S Series for the first time. When asked where this leaves the Note line, TM Roh, Samsung’s president and head of mobile communications business, said: “We’ve made the bold decision to expand the S Pen experience to Galaxy S21 Ultra, and plan to expand the S Pen experience across additional device categories in the future.”
Galaxy S21 series: the rest
While Samsung has predominantly moved the S21 family on in camera and screen technology, more modest improvements have been made under the hood, too. Ready for a numbers breakdown? Here it goes.
Samsung is promising 20 per cent faster CPU, 35 per cent faster GPU, and double-the-speed AI processors over the S20 handsets, making the S21 its fastest phones to date. The ‘Ultrasonic’ in-screen fingerprint scanner is now 1.7x larger for improved accuracy, too.
Battery-wise, the S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra sport 4000mAh, 4800mAh and 5000mAh juice packs respectively – the only change over the S20 series being the middle device gaining an extra 300mAh.
There’s 8GB RAM, plus either 128GB or 256GB storage options for the S21 and S21+, while the S21 Ultra gets either 8GB or 16GB RAM, with either 128GB, 256GB or 512GB storage options.
All three support Samsung’s Smart Things Find (which helps you locate Galaxy devices using Bluetooth LE – even when they’re offline) and £29/$30 Galaxy Smart Tag (which helps you locate non-connected devices or belongings that are tagged – pets, keys etc).
5G is, as expected, on the menu across the line-up, while Ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless communication technology support in the S21+ and S21 Ultra means we could see those premium devices able to, say, unlock a car (i.e. replace a car key fob) in the near-future, too.
So there you have it: three 5G Galaxy S21 phones for 2021, with improved cameras and screens, sleek (and tweaked) designs, and an expanded feature set for the Ultra handset. We, for one, cannot wait to get our hands on them very shortly. Watch this space, Android fans.

AMD presented at CES 2021 the new Ryzen processors 5000 of the U and H series for notebooks of this ‘year. Here it comes 13 new models to meet the different needs of users, from those looking for a gaming notebook to an ultraportable with high autonomy.
by Manolo De Agostini published 12 January 2021 , at 18: 01 in the Processors channel AMD RyZen
AMD submitted to CES 2021 the new Ryzen mobile microprocessors 5000 , a full range of chips dedicated to ultra-thin notebooks (U series from 15 W) or to the most powerful notebooks, devoted to gaming or to heavier productivity tasks (H series from 35 is 45 W +). Asus, HP and Lenovo will bring some models to the market as early as the first quarter , starting from February. AMD expects a total of 150 new projects this year , 50 in more than seen with the Ryzen 4000 last year.
The new offering of the company led by Lisa Su consists of eight models of the H series and five solutions of the U series , all made with a 7 nanometers production process. The most powerful model of the H series is the Ryzen 9 5980 HX , a processor with 8 cores and 16 threads operating at 3.3 – 4.8 GHz and 20 Total cache MB (L2 + L3). All H series processors are based on the latest Zen 3 architecture we have already come to like on CPUs Ryzen desktop 5000 released late last year, while not all U series processors are Zen 3, three out of five models are based on Zen 2 cores . In this case the top of the range is the Ryzen 7 5800 U , also equipped with 8 cores and 16 threads running at 1.9 – 4.4 GHz. As for the graphics, all AMD’s new chips integrate a Vega GPU like the series chips 4000 (at the moment we do not have the exact details, but the maximum limit remains 8 Compute Unit). In the following table you will find the overall picture of the specifications and the names of all the models:

As for the U series processors, AMD places emphasis on all-round performance improvement over the models . The new Zen 3 architecture allows a chip such as the Ryzen 7 5800 U of outperform the competition of Intel (Core i7 – 1165 G7) up to 23% in PCMark 10 and with variable results in other use cases such as Excel (+ 22%). All this ensuring autonomy up to 17, 5 hours in general use or 21 hours of continuous video playback.
Moving on to the H series, AMD seems to want to bet more than in passed on HS models, with TDP of 35 W in order to combine high performance in compact design and with good autonomy. The Ryzen 9 5980 HS offers both single-threaded performance according to AMD which multi-thread superior to any Intel CPU, even the Core i9 – 10980 HK.
The offer HX indicates instead of chips with unlocked multiplier for the OC (but it will be the discretion of the manufacturers to allow it) and a TDP that can go beyond 45 W to offer maximum performance. The Ryzen 9 5900 HX, according to the company, is the ” best processor for gaming notebooks of 2021 “with significantly higher performance than Core i9 – 10980 HK by Intel. However, we remind you that Intel is expected to renew the mobile offer with Tiger Lake H chips in the quarter from 45 W up to 8 cores, after having introduced new solutions with TDP of 35 W and four cores.

The Earth has revolved around its axis 28 times faster than the previous record of 2005. The shortest day of all was 19 July, when the Earth has completed its rotation 1, 4602 milliseconds less.
by Manolo De Agostini published 12 January 2021 , at 17: 41 in the Science and Technology channel
The 2020 was a particular year and given what happened, it seemed like an endless year . In truth, however, the rotation of the Earth around its axis , and therefore the duration of the days, was more often than not faster than average . Last year the were registered Faster days since the surveys began over the years 60.
We speak of milliseconds of course, and this should not be seen as an alarming phenomenon, in fact the rotation speed varies slightly due to changes in atmospheric pressure and the behavior of winds, ocean currents and core movements. The problem is all of who has to establish, through very precise atomic clocks, the coordinated universal time (UTC) to which the clocks refer.
From the years’ 60 to date there have been 27 interventions to put the astronomical time in line with the atomic time , with adding a leap second . The latest addition dates back to 2016, when at 23: 59: 59 New Year’s Eve an extra “leap second” was added. However, the acceleration in the rotation of the Earth could, for the first time, require a new device: the application of a negative leap second.
In short, instead of adding it will be necessary to subtract. This is because the average duration of one day is 86. 400 seconds, but an astronomical day in the 2021 will be 0, 05 shorter milliseconds , on average, for an overall delay of 19 milliseconds of atomic clocks.
“It is entirely possible that a negative leap second will be needed if the Earth’s rotational speed increases further, but it is too early to tell if this is likely to happen,” he said. physicist Peter Whibberley of the National Physics Laboratory in the UK told The Telegraph. “ There are also ongoing international discussions on the future of leap seconds , and it is also possible that the need for a negative leap second may lead to the decision to end leap seconds forever “.
As written at the beginning, the Earth has broken the previous record of the shortest astronomical day, established in 2005, ben 28 times in the course of 2020. The shortest day of that year, July 5, saw the Earth complete a full rotation of 1, 0516 milliseconds plus quickly than 86. 400 seconds. The shortest day of 2020 was 19 July, when the Planet has completed rotation 1, 4602 milliseconds faster than 86. 400 seconds.

WhatsApp has published a new FAQ page to its website outlining its stances on user privacy in response to widespread backlash over an upcoming privacy policy update. The core issue relates to WhatsApp’s data-sharing procedures with Facebook, with many users concerned an updated privacy policy going into effect on February 8th will mandate sharing of sensitive profile information with WhatsApp’s parent company.
That isn’t true — the update has nothing to do with consumer chats or profile data, and instead the change is designed to outline how businesses who use WhatsApp for customer service may store logs of its chats on Facebook servers. That’s something the company feels it is required to disclose in its privacy policy, which it’s now doing after previewing the upcoming changes to business chats back in October.
But a wave of misinformation on social media, not helped by Facebook’s abysmal track record on privacy and its reputation for obfuscating changes to its various terms of service agreements, has resulted in a full-blown WhatsApp backlash that has users fleeing to competitors like Signal and Telegram.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has even jumped into the fray, tweeting last week “Use Signal” to his more than 42 million followers. As the controversy has grown, Signal has become one of the most downloaded apps on Android and iOS and its verification system for signing up new users has repeatedly buckled under the pressure. Telegram, which is currently No. 2 behind Signal on the App Store, saw more than 25 million new users sign up in just the last 72 hours.
Telegram surpassed 500 million active users. 25 million new users joined in the last 72 hours: 38% came from Asia, 27% from Europe, 21% from Latin America and 8% from MENA. https://t.co/1LptHZb9PQ

WhatsApp executives, as well as Instagram chief Adam Mosseri and Facebook AR / VR head Andrew “Boz” Bosworth, are now trying to set the record straight, perhaps to little avail at this point.
There is a lot of misinformation about the WhatsApp ToS right now. The policy update does *not* affect the privacy of your messages with friends or family in any way. The changes are related to messaging a business on WhatsApp, which is optional. https://t.co/b7szUeinKX
— Adam Mosseri (@mosseri) January 12, 2021
“We want to be clear that the policy update does not affect the privacy of your messages with friends or family in any way. Instead, this update includes changes related to messaging a business on WhatsApp, which is optional, and provides further transparency about how we collect and use data,” the company writes on the new FAQ page.
It also stresses in the FAQ that neither Facebook nor WhatsApp read users’ message logs or listen to their calls, and that WhatsApp doesn’t store user location data or share contact information with Facebook. (It’s also worth noting that data sharing with Facebook is extremely limited for European users due to stronger user privacy protections in the EU.)
WhatsApp chief Will Cathcart also took to Twitter a few days ago to post a thread (later shared by Bosworth in the tweet above) trying to cut through the confusion and explain what’s actually going on.
“With end-to-end encryption, we cannot see your private chats or calls and neither can Facebook. We’re committed to this technology and committed to defending it globally,” Cathcart wrote. “It’s important for us to be clear this update describes business communication and does not change WhatsApp’s data sharing practices with Facebook. It does not impact how people communicate privately with friends or family wherever they are in the world.”
That’s why we are so committed to end-to-end encryption, and why we keep improving the privacy of WhatsApp, such as with our launch of disappearing messages in November. Our innovation on privacy will continue.
— Will Cathcart (@wcathcart) January 8, 2021
A bit of irony in all of this is the data sharing WhatsApp users are so keen to avoid has already likely been happening for a vast majority of those who use the messaging platform. The company let users opt out of data sharing with Facebook for only a brief amount of time back in 2016, two years after Facebook purchased the platform.
After that, new sign-ups and those who didn’t manually opt out of data sharing have had some WhatsApp information, principally their phone number and profile name, shared with the larger social network for ad targeting and other purposes. (If you did opt out, WhatsApp says it will honor that even after the February 8th update, according to PCMag.)
If you look at the privacy labels for WhatsApp on the App Store, labels Apple only last month began forcing developers to disclose, you’ll see scores of information that is marked as “data linked to you,” although only a unique device ID and app usage data is listed as used for “developer’s advertising and marketing.” (WhatsApp tried publicly calling Apple out for not making its own first-party apps adhere to the same standards, only for Apple to reply that it does in fact list privacy labels for the iOS apps it develops.)
In the upcoming privacy policy change, language regarding data sharing with Facebook was changed, leading many to believe the new mandated data sharing was a new change that could not be avoided — even though it’s been happening all along. “As part of the Facebook family of companies, WhatsApp receives information from, and shares information with, this family of companies,” reads WhatsApp’s new privacy policy. “We may use the information we receive from them, and they may use the information we share with them, to help operate, provide, improve, understand, customize, support, and market our Services and their offerings.”
This whole controversy may be chalked up to users misreading confusing media reports, jumping to conclusions, and then participating in scaremongering on social media. But it’s also a reality Facebook must contend with that the lack of trust in WhatsApp is directly related to years of bad faith privacy pledges from Facebook and increasingly complex terms of service agreements no regular, non-lawyer user can reasonably comprehend.
It’s no wonder then that users are flocking to an app like Signal — managed by a nonprofit and subsisting on donations and wealthy benefactors like none other than WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton — when they feel they can no longer trust what’s really happening when they message their friends on their smartphone. Now, Facebook and WhatsApp face a long road of transparent communication and trust-building ahead if they want to get those people back.
Sony has taken its VISION-S concept, presented for the first time at last year’s CES. New videos show some of the details of this interesting project
by Rosario Grasso published 12 January 2021 , at 16: 31 in the Technology channel Sony
Sony spoke again about VISION-S , the concept of “intelligent” electric car initially presented at the last CES. The new presentation, inevitably digital, focuses on a series of videos, which provide information on car design and engineering, include comments from Sony’s partners and reveal that the Vehicle testing on public roads started near the engineering center in Graz, Austria.
VISION-S, the Japanese technology brand debuts in the automotive sector
There hasn’t been much talk about VISION-S in the last year, so Sony wanted to catch up with some high-impact videos. Vehicle equips 40 sensors for the management of autonomous driving technologies and great attention is paid to the solutions of infotainment . Sony claims that with this project it wants to benefit from its software experience, which culminate in a large panoramic display covering the entire dashboard. At a certain point in the video you can see a controller PlayStation connected to the screen, highlighting how it is possible to ‘large display for playing Little Big Planet .
Sony partners talked about ‘ importance of communications and the cloud for modern vehicles . Sony’s electric concept human-machine interface includes facial, voice and gesture recognition . The video also shows how the technologies built into Sony cameras can handle advanced thermal imaging solutions. English subtitles are available .
For the moment Sony is not unbalanced on the timing of development and the start of production of the vehicle. However, one of the videos shows the VISION-S on the road, with the body camouflaged. Among other things, note that the drone AirPeak was used for the making of this video.
As revealed last year, Sony VISION-S has a dual motor from 200 kW with the possibility of accelerating from 0 to 100 Km / h in just 4.8 seconds at a maximum speed of 238 Km / h . The vehicle is then equipped with CMOS image sensors and ToF sensors , to detect and recognize objects and people inside and outside the vehicle itself and offer highly advanced driving support. The ?? 360 Sony’s Reality Audio ?? guarantees a deep and immersive audio experience, through the speakers built into each parking space, so as to envelop passengers in sound .
