Smartphone Best Buy Guide – November 2020

We publish an update of this BBG once every two months. Relatively many devices have been added in the recent period, some of which are very interesting. For example, we received many new smartphones in the lower price range from Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola and Nokia. Two of the three recommendations there are new. In the category above, a new Samsung device has been added to the recommendations and the Moto G9 Plus is participating for the first time. The 350 to 500 Euro category was already hugely competitive and the Pixel 4a is now taking on the established order. In the price range from 500 to 700 euros, all recommendations have been updated, which is exceptional. In the highest category, no fewer than seven new devices have been added and that includes the new iPhone 12 and 12 Pro bij.

Although the recommendations have sometimes remained the same, we have weighed all devices again and included the price development. All this, of course, to determine which smartphones per category are the most recommended at the moment.

Motorola has unveiled the new Moto G9 Power smartphone with a 6000 mAh battery

Fresh Power is the third phone in Motorola’s Moto G9 range and the successor to the 8-month-old Moto G8 Power.

Motorola has today released the third vesa in its Moto G9 product family – a novelty called the Moto G9 Power. The manufacturer has already released Moto G9 Play and Moto G9 Plus. G9 Power acts as a follower of only 8 months old Moto G8 Power was clearly speeding up this year’s Moto G9 series release schedule after last year’s publications sprinkled half of the year.

As with previous G9 series releases, the Moto G9 Power clearly stands out from its predecessor in terms of size. The Moto G9 Power’s display is as large as a 6.8-inch panel bearing the Max Vision HD + marketing name, the details of which have not been shared by the manufacturer at the time of publication. Based on the name, the resolution is HD + (720 p) level, which means that its resolution is below the Moto G9 Plus with the same size screen. Technically, this is probably a traditional IPS LCD panel.

In appearance, the Moto G9 Power shows clear references to the Moto G 5G Plus released in the summer with a similar square camera system, although a quarter of the cameras in the frame have been replaced with an LED flash. The cameras are operated by 64 megapixel main camera and two 2 megapixel sensors, one of which is a macro camera and another depth camera. 10 The megapixel front camera is placed in a hole in the screen as is familiar from other G9 series in the upper left corner

According to the model name, the battery distinguishes the Moto G9 Power from its mass and sibling models. The phone battery has a massive 6000 mAh, which according to the manufacturer should be enough to carry the device over 60 hours of operation time. In terms of download speeds, a watt TurboPower charge is supported. In addition to the large screen, the battery provides power to the Snapdragon 662 system circuit, which is also familiar from the Moto G9 Play. The premiere of the smartphone Motorola Moto G 5G – the missing link

In the middle of this year’s holidays, I had the opportunity to test the Motorola Moto G 5G Plus smartphone, which I remember well for the presence of solutions such as NFC, a traditional headphone jack, a sensitive and fast fingerprint reader, as well as a screen with well-reproduced colors. Today, however, the Moto G 5G model is making its debut, which is slightly different from the previously mentioned device. Whether he is more interesting than him, tests will show. Today I would like to take a closer look at the technical specifications of the phone and the most important features determining its real usability. I will just mention that on the occasion of the premiere of Motorola Moto G 5G, the Moto G9 Power model also debuted, to which I will devote a separate entry.

Meet Motorola Moto G 5G, a new smartphone from the manufacturer that is the next step to popularize the mobile network in the 5G standard. Let’s check what exactly the manufacturer has prepared for customers.

In terms of visuals, Moto G 5G does not differ much from Moto G 5G Plus models and the most important difference here will be the screen notch which has been transferred from the side edge to the center of the top panel. This time it is a single camera module, not a double as in the case of its predecessor. Here we get 16 Mpix unit with f / 2.2 light with Quad Pixel function. This means that photos are processed to a resolution of 4 Mpix. We also find here a number of modes such as: Portrait, Beautify, Night. The image is displayed on a 6.7-inch LTPS Max Vision screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1080.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 750 G, 4 or 6 GB is responsible for performance RAM and 64 or 128 GB of RAM. The latter can be expanded by up to 1 TB using microSD cards. The battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh, according to the manufacturer, will provide up to 2 days of work on a single charge, but let’s wait for the test results. Speaking of charging, here we find Turbo Power technology for power 16 W. In theory 12 – a minute charge should allow even 10 operating hours of the equipment. As in the case of the predecessor with the note Plus in the name, we find here USB-C (unfortunately only USB 2.0), an FM radio, a single speaker and solutions such as Bluetooth 5.1, WiFi ac and NFC for contactless payments.

Construction with dimensions 166, 1x 76, 1 x 9.9 mm weighing 212 grams, made of plastic, is splash-proof, which is confirmed by the IP standard 52. There is a triple camera system on the backs, consisting of 48 Mpix main unit with f / 1.7 light, 8 Mpix ultra wide angle with f / 2.2 aperture and 2 Mpix macro camera. It is worth mentioning that we also get a new camera application (known, for example, for Motorola razr 5G), which is much more convenient than the previous version. Motorola Moto G 5G smartphone running Android 04 with the effort My UX will cost in Poland 1299 PLN for the basic variant.
