Anyone who owns a NAS from Qnap should bring the QTS operating system up to date. Otherwise, attackers could attack devices.

In a security warning, Qnap reported the vulnerabilities (CVE – 2020 – 2490, CVE – 2020 – 2492) outgoing threat level with ” medium “classified. Attacks should be possible from a distance. After a successful attack, you should be able to execute your own commands. The developers do not explain what an attack scenario looks like.

According to their own information, they have the vulnerabilities in Version 4.4.3. 1421 build 20200907 closed. The edition has been available since the beginning of September. In the system settings you can check the status of your own NAS device and update it if necessary.

Windows 10, towards the elimination of Internet Explorer with the redirect on Edge. All the details

A new step towards the definitive abandonment of Internet Explorer, with more than a thousand sites (at least initially) that will be launched through the more modern (and supported) Edge based on Chromium

Like it or not, Windows users have had to progressively move away from Internet Explorer, web browser that has become legendary more for its negative characteristics than for its qualities. Microsoft has released a first version of Edge, its replacement, in a modern key (perhaps too much), and then retraces its steps with a new variant based on Chromium.

from Windows 10 20 H2 this version is now native to the operating system, and the permanent abandonment of Internet Explorer now seems to be a priority for Microsoft. After rolling out an update to install the new Chromium-based Edge on as many systems as possible, Microsoft plans to force over a thousand websites to run on Edge .

Specifically, as reported by ZDNet, starting next month if you try to access an “incompatible” website with Internet Explorer, the system will perform a redirect forcing the site to be played on the new Edge browser. The source also recorded a video showing how the novelty will operate on Windows 10.

In the list of sites that will be automatically launched on Edge you can read many names, and not just of websites unknown to most. Among these we find Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, various Google services, and again Microsoft Teams and several websites related to home banking systems and other large-scale brands. According to a Microsoft FAQ page the news will be distributed on Microsoft Edge version 87 , which is scheduled to debut next time 19 November.

A major change is also the fact that Edge will retrieve browsing data from Internet Explorer, unless you uncheck the option on first run which will be shown in the warning screen (photo below).

The elimination of Internet Explorer is a essential move for Microsoft , since for very long years the browser has been one of the biggest nightmares for web developers. To date, the old program for surfing the internet does not even account for 5% of traffic, so the cessation of its activities should not be frustrating for the vast majority of users. Those few who still use IE, however, know that the browser is running out of hours.
