There is a recommended graphics card for every need. We help to find the right graphics card for desktop, video and gaming use.

Graphics card purchase advice 2020: Graphics cards for the office and gaming computer GeForce, Radeon or Intel? Alternatives and performance comparison Article in c’t 24 / 2020 read You can only enjoy your PC with a graphics card. In the case of many notebooks and PCs with Intel processors and built-in GPUs, this only applies to complex 3D games. In most PCs with an AMD CPU, you have to insert a separate card. Because as fast as the Ryzen computers are, most AM4 processors lack an integrated graphics unit. Even with our building proposal, you have to think about how much graphic it should be. If it’s just about the graphical user interface of the operating system, if you want to have modern video codecs displayed efficiently and smoothly thanks to dedicated hardware decoders, if you want a (simple) 3D game from time to time, or is the PC the basis of well-oiled gaming -Machine?

Depending on the answer to this question, one is less than 50 Euro or in extreme cases with a four-digit amount. We have therefore included our all-rounder construction proposal based on the six-core Ryzen 5 3600 a cheap Radeon RX 1080 for around 80 Euro equipped. It relieves the processor with its modern video decoders and encoders, for example when watching Netflix, and also supplies 4K displays with ergonomic 61 Hertz. Thanks to its 4 GB graphics memory, it is enough for frugal users for a game in between. The flight simulator 2000 runs in 1080 p even with low details only with barely 20 fps.

Real gamers want more complex titles and full HD resolution of 1920 × 1080 Pixels still like 60 Achieve images per second – and switch off as few details as possible. We recommend a Radeon RX 5500 XT with 8 GB of graphics memory, so that here in there will be no bottleneck in the foreseeable future. Thus the shooter Metro Exodus runs in Full HD and detail level “Normal” with just under 70 fps – a clear jump from the 21 fps of the RX 550. In the action adventure Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, high details are also round 70 fps, in WQHD (2560 × 1440) still over 50 fps. The FS 2020 are in full HD resolution with high details still about 30 fps in there and even in WQHD are still tight 25 Frames per second left.

Photos of a black AMD Radeon RX 6800XT have started to pop up on the Internet, showing it off in a size comparison next to an RTX 3070.  Apparently, these all-black versions are destined to be housed in Lenovo Legion gaming PCs.

As seen in the photos shared in Weibo (via VideoCardz), the black Radeon RX 6800XT seems to be identical to the reference design that AMD has presented during the Radeon RX 6000 series announcement. It features the same triple-fan design with Radeon logos on the centre and the same dimensions. The only differences that we have spotted are the silver edges of the fans, and obviously, the black shroud. Additionally, it seems that the Radeon logo on the side of the card will be the only thing lighting up when the card is powered.

Compared to the RTX 3070, the two graphics cards are roughly the same size and thickness. The Radeon RX 6800XT shown in the photos features triple-fan cooling solution and is powered by 2x 8-pin power connectors, while the grey OEM-version of the RTX 3070 features two bigger fans and is powered by a single 8-pin power connector.

The Radeon RX 6800XT will release on November 18th, priced at $649, alongside the Radeon RX 6800. The Radeon RX 6900XT is expected to launch on December 8th,
