Sapphire Pulse RX 5500 XT SF – small Navi at the end of the generation

Today is a big day – in the afternoon we will get to know the new Radeon RX series graphics cards 6000, which in terms of performance should compete with the recently released NVIDIA Ampere units. This great event will undoubtedly determine the near future of the GPU industry, but some manufacturers still think about the first generation of Navi and develop new versions of these popular cards. You don’t have to look far for the evidence. Sapphire has just decided to release a new variant of the budget Radeon RX 5500 XT in ITX format. I am talking about the Pulse RX 5500 XT SF model, which looks strongly resembling the popular, full-size Pulse with two fans. What do we know about this new chip?

Pulse RX performance-wise 5500 XT SF should not differ from the full size variant. The card is available in two versions, with 4 GB and 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM (14 Gbps).

New Sapphire Pulse RX graphics card 5500 XT SF has 177, 2 millimeters long and should be an interesting option for people looking for cheap graphics for a small computer set. The whole thing takes up two slots in the housing and in fact it is just a shortened version of the previously released and appreciated by consumers Pulse, so we should not be afraid of high temperatures (especially since the TDP of the card is only 135 W). HDMI connector, three DisplayPorts, and for power supply requires a single 8-pin plug.

In terms of performance, the Pulse RX 5500 XT SF should not differ from the full-size variant. The presented model in Boost mode will accelerate to a maximum of 1845 MHz, so there was no corporate OC. The card is available in versions with 4 GB and 8 GB of VRAM GDDR6 memory (14 Gbps) on the bus 256 – bit. The price of the chip remains unknown for now. It is possible that in the near future Sapphire will also release the Radeon RX 5600 XT in a smaller version – the slightly more efficient and attractive one for GPU players is asking for such variant.
