NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti – the answer to the AMD Radeon RX 6800

A few days ago we wrote about the mysterious Ampere GA chip 102 – 150 that is being worked on by NVIDIA and may be used by card known as GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. Before the weekend, the first information about this core appeared. It is supposed to be the most trimmed version of GA 102 and offer slightly lower performance compared to GeForce ‘ a RTX 3080. Looking at the information obtained, the mysterious card looks like a response to one of the upcoming AMD Radeon RX cards 6000, or more precisely to the Radeon RX 6800 XT. According to new reports, NVIDIA is in a hurry to prepare this card, which means that its announcement may take place quite soon. In addition, we learned more details about the specs of the mysterious GPU.

According to the latest information, the mysterious NVIDIA GeForce graphics card with Ampere GA core 102 – 150 is intended to be a direct and fast response to the AMD Radeon RX 6800 with NAVI core 21 XL.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics card test 3080 – Premiere Ampere!

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti (or SUPER, whatever the manufacturer calls this card) will be equipped with the Ampere GA core 102 – 150 in progress. The GPU continues to offer 28, 3 billion transistors and surface area 628 mm². However, it will come with 7424 CUDA Cores, 232 Tensor cores and 58 RT cores, and therefore 58 active SM blocks. We initially thought the TGP would be lower compared to the GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3090. It turns out, however, that according to new reports from a Twitter user with the nickname kopite7kimi, the upcoming card with the Ampere GA core 102 – 150 will have a TGP of 320 W. Although we do not have 100% sure, the source emphasizes that this project is being developed in a hurry as a quick response to the Radeon RX 6800.

Potential GeForce RTX 3070 Ti will also come with 10 GB of GDDR6X VRAM per 320 – bit memory bus. We do not know how much truth there is in this leak, but the fragment referring to the direct competition for the weakest Radeon card based on the NAVI core 2020 is very interesting. XL. This week we should finally get to know the details of the specifications and performance of competing RDNA 2 chips, which will certainly bring us closer to discovering what
