We have it in our hands a few days after its presentation: let’s talk about the new HUAWEI Mate 40 Pro, the flagship of the Chinese company that wants to once again propose itself as the first of class in photography and video. Here’s how it’s done in our unboxing.
by Bruno Mucciarelli published on 28 October 2020 in the Telephony channel Huawei
HUAWEI announced it just a few days ago and we already have it in our hands: let’s talk about the new HUAWEI Mate 40 Pro , the top of the range of the new smartphone series that has always revolutionized the photography market and that now wants to continue to do so, further increasing the level thanks to innovation and technological development. We have ” unpacked ” it from its sales package unofficial but practically complete and we want to show you the first impressions, what we will find in the sales package and above all how the new smartphone of the Chinese company is made.
HUAWEI Mate 40 Pro: here is UNBOXING! First impressions [/HWUVIDEO]
HUAWEI Mate 40 Pros: Could it be even better?
Change the aesthetics in the HAUWEI Mate 40 Pro, even if slightly, but of done the company tries to start from what has been done well with the P 40 Pro from a few months ago. The design in this case is combined with innovative technology. There is the so-called Horizon Display with angles from 88 ° that promote immersive viewing in a compact design. In this case, the curvature makes the smartphone comfortable to hold in the hand. There is IP certification 68 for resistance to dust and water, and the possibility of choosing between physical and virtual keys, as well as algorithms that prevent typing errors.
Always aesthetically looking at the back you can see the brand new Space Ring Design , the evolution of HUAWEI’s now iconic circular design. The new Mate 40 Pro is available in Black and White colors but also this very particular Mystic Silver , characterized by an iridescent finish.
On a technical level the new HUAWEI Mate 40 Pro possesses the very powerful Kirin 9000 which for the first time will power the most powerful Mate ever. The CPU is fully 5G ready, capable of handling intensive computing processes and multi-tasking operations with ease, at least according to its engineers. Kirin 9000 is made with a 5nm production process , offers improved performance as well as management of the ?? energy than its predecessors higher.
All this will also provide the basis for the best use of the display from 90 Hz with 6.7 ” diagonal and which works in conjunction with the sampling rate at 240 Hz for greater responsiveness and provides tactile feedback corresponding to the visual experience. And if that’s not enough, there are also two stereo speakers to create an all-encompassing surround sound.
Many peculiarities regarding the photographic sector. HUAWEI decides to integrate systems of Dual Cine Cameras and Dual Ultra Wide Cameras with viewing angle expanded capable of allowing the capture of high quality video and images. On a technical level the main chamber results from 50 MP with focal aperture from f / 1.9 while that Ultra Wide Angle reaches i 20 MP with f / 1.8. There is then that from 12 Periscope type MP that will allow you to zoom up to 5 X optically and with OIS stabilization.
At the video level, HUAWEI Mate 40 Pro will be able to capture a 4K video content with Steady Shot, while the XD Fusion HDR Engine ensures balance in exposure, even in case of extreme light contrasts. Further new features are the Tracking Shot and Story Creator , which will offer lifelike cinematic effects.
HUAWEI Mate 40 Series has an important autonomy to keep up with the needs of 5G. The battery is 4. 400 mAh but above all it supports fast charging from 66 W HUAWEI SuperCharge and from 50 W HUAWEI Wireless SuperCharge.
HUAWEI Mate 40 Pro sees the EMUI integrated 00 of new concept based on Android 10 Open Source. There are tons of new features in it like the Smart Gesture Control which allows control of the device without the need to use fingers. It also uses the new dynamic Eyes on Display which allows you to activate your smartphone with a simple glance, with interactive and customizable displays that contain all the information the user needs on the phone.

Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700
squirrel_widget_158195
Think of noise-cancelling headphones and chances are you’ll think of Bose. The company’s technology range is known the world over for being the crème de la crème in noise-cancellation. The 700 is the latest pair in the company’s arsenal, and is hugely comfortable to wear and use. Also perfect for drowning out the office.

AirPods Pro
squirrel_widget_168834
Maybe your traveller doesn’t like the over-ear style of headphones, though – but is an Apple aficionado. They might find the new AirPods Pro perfect, in that case. They’ll still get active noise cancellation for those plane and train rides, with all the benefits of Apple’s easy pairing and great audio.

Netflix Gift Card
squirrel_widget_173066
Being stuck and bored in a hotel room with nothing on the television can be really dull. Get them a Netflix Gift Card and when they travel they can at least watch a stack of movies and TV shows. Better still, when you travel with Netflix you get access to different shows in different parts of the world, allowing you to explore things you might not be watching at home.
Tile Pro luggage tracker
squirrel_widget_148708
This small luggage tag is so much more than it looks, letting the owner track the location of their bag or keys. Now coming with a replaceable battery, it has a 300ft range, and comes with a built-in siren so you can find your keys, or anything else you’ve attached it to. An accompanying app offers control and tracking.
Bang and Olufsen Beosound A1 2nd Gen speaker
squirrel_widget_239630
It might be small, but the B and O BeoPlay A1’s big sound makes it standout in the portable Bluetooth speaker market. We may have baulked at its price tag at first, but given how good it sounds, we think it’s worth every penny.

iPad Pro 12.9
squirrel_widget_193468
Laptops are well and good, but for portability and adaptability there’s just no beating a tablet. Apple’s iPads are some of the slickest on the market, and the iPad Pro’s redesign with rounded sides is a wonder to behold. We think this tablet is likely best for most travellers, and makes for the perfect movie-watching, ebook-reading buddy.

Mophie Powerstation XXL External Battery
squirrel_widget_148860
The Mophie Powerstation Plus XXL battery portable charger offers 20,000mAh of charge is available with a Lightning cable and there are different capacities available if you want something smaller. You’ll get 3 USB ports: 2x 2, 1A USB-A output port and 1x 1, 5A USB-A output to charge your gadgets. While this model doesn’t offer USB-C support, others in the range do.
QuietOn earplugs
squirrel_widget_148861
QuietOn is an earplug combining active noise cancellation and acoustic noise attenuation without the worry of having to wear big headphones or what music you should be listening to. Whether that’s sleeping on a plane or trying to get some work done at the office the only worry you’ll have is the person you give them to might not be able to hear you talking to them in the future.
ANRUI Toiletry Bag with Strap
squirrel_widget_148862
It’s not a tech gadget, but if you know someone who travels through airports a lot this is the gift to get them if they don’t already have one. Rather than faff around with a silly plastic bag, this keeps their toiletries tidy and professional, while also being incredibly easy to handle at security. We swear by them.
Skross World Travel Adapter MUV USB
squirrel_widget_148863
If trying to find the ultimate travel adapter for that frequent flyer in your life then you can’t go wrong with the Skross World Travel Adapter. Rather than just delivering a way to plug things into work in a foreign country this adapter goes one step further and includes the ability to charge two USB devices, even if another device is connected via the adapter at the same time. It also means they won’t have to pack a barrage of other chargers too.
Best phono preamps Buying Guide: Welcome to What Hi-Fi?’s round-up of the best phono preamps you can buy in 2020.

But whether you’re looking to pinch pennies or break the bank, we’ve got a phono preamp for you: we’ve drawn on our extensive reviews back catalogue to pick the best around right now, so you can be sure that you’re buying quality.

The design has been fine-tuned within an inch of its life, making for a much sleeker product that retains the winning simplicity of its predecessor. Looks lovely and is a treat to use
Well this is certainly a looker. With an offset volume dial, minimalist styling and mirrored rear labelling that’s easy to read even if you’re peering over the top of the unit, it’s clear a lot of thought has gone into this device. And no less attention has been paid to the audio quality. The presentation is very good indeed, being spacious and cohesive, while the sound is dynamic and the timing spot-on. It doesn’t quite match the Rega Fono MM MK2, but it certainly holds its own, which makes it certainly worthy of consideration.

3. Edwards Audio Apprentice MM
For such an affordable phono stage, this has bags of musicality.

Great-sounding sub-£100 phono stages are rarer than hens’ teeth, so it gives us great pleasure to see another entrant in the field. Sure, it’s small and fairly basic looking, but every effort has been made on the innards: they give sufficient body to a song’s vocals without overloading it with bass. It has a great sense of timing, too. One of the best budget phono preamps around.

Still one of the best phono stages around at this price.

5. Graham Slee Gram Amp 2 Communicator
Despite improved competition, the Gram Amp still stands the test of time.
SPECIFICATIONS
Moving Magnet: Yes | Moving Coil: No | Line level in: 1 | Remote control: No | Finishes: 1 | Dimensions (HxWxD): 130 x 210 x 155mm
Reasons to Buy
Class-leading detail
Brilliant timing
Expressive sound
Reasons to Avoid
Not the last word in weight or punch
Another oldie but still a goodie, the Gram Amp 2 holds its own a full five years after first coming on the scene. And you can see why – simplicity is the name of the game here, an approach that ages remarkably well. It’s a moving-magnet phono stage with one set of inputs, one output, no bells or whistles. Sound quality is first rate: fantastically detailed, with the upper register particularly impressive. There’s also an optional PSU1 linear audio upgrade, a 24V DC brick that evens out the variations from a household power supply. It will cost you a bit more, but if you want to elevate this already excellent budget model then it’s worth it.

6. Musical Fidelity LX2-LPS
Musical Fidelity’s engaging phono amp deserves to be heard.
SPECIFICATIONS
Moving Magnet: Yes | Moving Coil: Yes | Line level in: 2 | Remote control: No | Finishes: 2 | Dimensions (HxWxD): 46.5 x 172 x 197mm
Reasons to Buy
Open, full-bodied presentation
Fluid dynamics
Ace vocal performances
Reasons to Avoid
Lacks some punch and drive
Catering for both moving magnet and moving coil cartridges is a rarity at this price, and doing so with such aplomb is even rarer. This has bags of features – some of some might be overkill, but this phono stage still performs with plenty of gusto. Its delivery is impressively spacious and full bodied, with plenty of bass. It’s not quite the best at this price range, but it’s certainly up there.

7 Chord Huei
Chord’s experience shines through in this fine phono stage.
SPECIFICATIONS
Moving Magnet: Yes | Moving Coil: Yes | Line level in: 1 | Remote control: No | Finishes: 1 | Dimensions (HxWxD): 4.3 x 16 x 7.2cm
Reasons to Buy
Clear and composed sound
Impressive build
Neat design
Chord’s excellent DACs might steal a lot of the headlines, but let’s not forget the company makes analogue amplification. This phono preamp looks and feels the part, with single-ended stereo RCA connections for input and output, plus a balanced XLR output. Setting up is a bit fiddly, and there’s a wide range of adjustment to get acquainted with, so we’d recommend having the instruction manual close to hand.
As long as you own a suitably talented turntable, you’ll get good results from the Huei. There’s a nice overall balance to the sound, a good level of insight and am open, stable and welcoming stereo image. It’s not quite as dynamically expressive as the top performers at the money, but it’s a solid performer that should be taken seriously.

7. Rega Aria
A phono stage of rare quality.
SPECIFICATIONS
Moving Magnet: Yes | Moving Coil: Yes | Line level in: 2 | Remote control: No | Finishes: 1 | Dimensions (HxWxD): 78 x 220 x 340mm
Reasons to Buy
Excellent insight
Plenty of punch
MC loading adjustments
File this one under rugged rather than elegant, though it’s well-made and built to last. It handles both moving magnet and moving coil cartridges too, so it’s more versatile than many. The sound is responsive and agile, as you would hope for the price, but it’s the sense of composure that really sets it apart from lesser units. A fine all-rounder that deserves to be paired with a suitably talented turntable.

8. Musical Fidelity MX-VYNL
Generous features, superb sound and a little flavour of the truly high-end.
SPECIFICATIONS
Moving Magnet: Yes | Moving Coil: Yes | Line level in: 1 | Remote control: No | Finishes: 1 | Dimensions (HxWxD): 53 x 220 x 215mm
Reasons to Buy
Impressive transparency
Articulate and agile presentation
Impressive build and finish
This is a very convenient device indeed, with very easy-to-use controls. Thankfully that’s far from its only strength – sound is wonderfully transparent and detailed, digging up low-level instrumental strands and sonic textures with ease. There’s a fluidity to it that makes rivals seem mechanical by comparison. And it doesn’t hold back when it comes to bite and attack. A superb balance of attitude and refinement.

9. Rega Aura
Rega’s premium phono stage is one to savour.
SPECIFICATIONS
Moving Magnet: No | Moving Coil: Yes | Line level in: 0 | Remote control: No | Finishes: 1 | Dimensions (HxWxD): 88 x 435 x 350mm
Reasons to Buy
Dynamic and entertaining presentation
Impressive detail resolution
Terrific build
Reasons to Avoid
Lack of choice in equalisation curves
Not compatible with moving magnets
Rega as a brand tends to focus on the more affordable end of the hi-fi market, but when it decides to go big the results are usually spectacular, as the Aura phono stage proves. This is no Swiss Army knife device, being devoted to get the most from moving coil cartridges only. Those with moving magnets will have to look elsewhere.
That’s not as much of an issue as it might appear bearing in mind that most cartridges likely to be partnered with the Aura will be of the appropriate type. Once the cartridge is optimised with the correct electrical loading you’ll find that the Aura will allow your record player to sing, delivering a sound fully of excitement and drive. Rarely have we come across such an entertaining performer. The Rega Aura isn’t cheap, but in a suitably talented system it’s worth all that money and then some.

10. Vertere Acoustics Phono-1 MkII
One of the finest phono stages we’ve heard at the price.
SPECIFICATIONS
Moving Magnet: Yes | Moving Coil: Yes | Line level in: n/a | Remote control: No | Finishes: 4 | Dimensions (HxWxD): 55 x 210 x 360mm
Reasons to Buy
Dynamic, entertaining performer
Impressive resolution
Rhythmic coherence
Good range of adjustments
Reasons to Avoid
Simple appearance
Lacks bling value
You couldn’t say the Vertere Acoustics Phono-1 MkII is much to look at, but if you’re in the market for a phono amplifier anywhere near £1000 you need to audition one. It’s a brilliant performer for the money, with a useful selection of features and adjustments, which should help you get the most from any cartridge. Its detailed, musical delivery makes it a joy to listen to.

11. Cyrus Phono Signature/PSX-R2
A quality phono stage for high-end turntables.
SPECIFICATIONS
Moving Magnet: No | Moving Coil: Yes | Line level in: 3 | Remote control: Yes | Finishes: 1 | Dimensions (HxWxD): 73 x 215 x 360mm
Reasons to Buy
Balanced, insightful sound
Expressive dynamics
Rhythmically surefooted
Reasons to Avoid
Remote poorly marked
Display contrast is poor off axis
Front panel buttons feel vague
A remote control makes fine-tuning the sound as easy as changing the TV channel. Or at least it should – while a welcome innovation, the remote could be more clearly marked, as only a handful of buttons actually operate the phono preamp. Or Cyrus could have made a separate remote altogether for this unit. But there are plenty of inputs, the sound is seriously talented and it comes bursting with texture and insight. Highly recommended.

12. Pathos In The Groove
Not Pathos’ usual design statement, but a superb unit nonetheless.
SPECIFICATIONS
Moving Magnet: Yes | Moving Coil: Yes | Line level in: 1 | Remote control: No | Finishes: 1 | Dimensions (HxWxD): 70 x 200 x 260mm
Reasons to Buy
Refined sound
Cartridge loading adjustments
Fine build and finish
Pathos is known for its striking designs, so we were a little disappointed to see its In The Groove. A bit conservative, no? Still, you can’t deny it feels like a premium piece of kit. It sounds great too – there’s a sweetness to the presentation, and the balance is fluid and full-bodied. It all adds up to a versatile phono preamp that will do you proud with lots of different systems.

13. Aesthetix Io Eclipse
Only suitable for the high-end systems, but this is one of the very best.
SPECIFICATIONS
Moving Magnet: Yes | Moving Coil: Yes | Line level in: 3 | Remote control: No | Finishes: 1 | Dimensions (HxWxD): 141 x 441 x 450mm
Reasons to Buy
Natural, informative sound
Exquisite design and build
Reasons to Avoid
Needs care in use
Lacks flexibility
Takes up loads of rack space
£17,000 for a phono preamp? It might be crazy money, but then this is a crazily good unit. The sound is out of this world, providing you pair it with some worthy turntables, that is. The midrange is beautifully layered, the treble full of insight and its ability to convey low-level dynamic shifts is truly mesmerising. If you want one of the very best, this is for you.

14. Burmester 100 Phono Preamplifier
A top-class phono stage with a price tag to match.
SPECIFICATIONS
Moving Magnet: Yes | Moving Coil: Yes | Line level in: 1 | Remote control: No | Finishes: 1 | Dimensions (HxWxD): 95 x 482 x 345mm
Reasons to Buy
Fluid, dynamic, informative sound
Modular nature
Superb build
Reasons to Avoid
Lack of choice in equalisation curves
Switching between moving magnet and moving coil cartridges is as easy as flicking a switch on this, which is welcome, as pricey kit isn’t always so user friendly. It boasts pretty much every feature on our wish list, including a bundled test record to fine-tune the balance. And the sound? It packs plenty of punch, but without compromising the warmth we’ve come to associate with Burmester. It’s every inch as good as you would expect for £9,000.

The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds deliver an energetic, balanced sound and brilliant noise-cancelling. A serious candidate for best-in-class
For
Exciting, entertaining sound
Superb balance
Impressive noise-cancelling
Against
No volume controls
Average battery life
When Bose launches a new pair of QuietComfort headphones, the tech world sits up and takes notice. After all, it’s a sub-brand that has become synonymous with sensational noise-cancellers over the years.
Historically, the vast majority of its noise-cancelling headphones have been on- and over-ear designs, but the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds take the legendary line into the relatively new world of true wireless earbuds. Here, they go toe to toe with some huge, established rivals, such as the Apple AirPods Pros, Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2s and Sony WF-1000XM3s. Needless to say, we have big hopes for these wireless earbuds, but can Bose deliver?
Comfort
Bose has launched noise-cancelling in-ear headphones and true wireless headphones before, but this is the first time it has combined the two technologies. This means there’s plenty of tech to pack into the QuietComfort Earbuds, and that has led to a pair of buds that are pretty stocky in appearance.
The earpieces don’t protrude massively from your ears, but the general look is bigger than the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live and Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2s – these are more akin to the Sony WF-1000XM3s. The main body of the headphone is at least curved, so it blends in a bit easier to the side of your head.
Bose QuietComfort Earbuds tech specs

Bluetooth version 5.1
Noise-cancelling Yes
Battery life 6 hours (18 with charging case)
Voice control Siri, Google Assistant
Finishes x2
Our review pair is in the creamy Soapstone finish, but there is also a Triple Black option. Even some premium wireless earbuds can feel a bit cheap in the hand, but not these Boses. The smooth outer surfaces of the earpieces feel tactile, while the glossy plastic used for the driver enclosure is robust. The winged eartips boast a smooth, matte finish, too, helping heighten the impression of quality.
There’s a choice of small, medium and large tips – this seems a little stingy, but the edges of the tips are so generous in size, it makes it easy to get a good seal. You don’t need to drive them in like tent pegs to feel the isolation, which is great for comfort levels. We’re also fans of how simple it is to swap the tips around. Just slide them on and off the earbuds and you can have a new pair fitted in seconds.
The Boses feel lightweight enough and we have no issues listening for a few hours at a time. For the average commute or exercise session (the QuietComforts are both sweat and weather-resistant) they are great to live with.
Build
Battery life is a claimed six hours from a single charge, with the charging case supplying an extra two charges, making 18 hours in total. That’s a decent reserve, but by no means class-leading. The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2s, by contrast, boast seven hours per charge plus 21 extra hours from their case.
A 15-minute quick-charge should give you a couple of hours if you’re caught short, and there’s the option of using the supplied USB-C cable or any Qi-certified wireless charging mat to get the job done.
The charging case is a chunky affair too, but at least it feels solid and built to last. You need to press a button on the front to gain entry, which is unusual for a pair of wireless earbuds, as most just tend to settle for a magnetic lid. A row of LEDs on the front of the case shows you how much battery life is left inside.
When first using the QuietComfort Earbuds, open the case and have the Bose Music app (for Android and iOS) to hand. You’ll be prompted to pair and guided through all the key features.
By default, you touch and hold your finger on the touchpad of the right earbud to access voice assistants or decline a call. Double-tap to play/pause and answer. Touch and hold your finger on the left earbud to skip a track or check the battery level.
You can customise some features and controls based on what you use the most often, but the disappointment here is that the Boses can’t control volume. This means you have to reach for your phone every time you want to turn your music up or down.
The headphones use four microphones to help with call quality and they work together well to keep your voice sounding solid and clear. But do the QuietComfort Earbuds deliver Bose’s trademark, excellent noise-cancelling? In a word, yes.
Bose has designed these in-ears to be as flexible as possible, so you can set them up to cancel noise based on your personal preferences. In the Bose music app, you’re presented with a noise-cancelling sliding scale which ranges from zero (no noise-cancelling) to 10 (maximum noise-cancelling). Through the app you can assign three different positions – say 0, 5 and 10 – as ‘Favourites’ and cycle through them by double tapping the left earpiece.
The QuietComfort Earbuds more than live up to their billing. Experiment with the different levels and you’ll hear the QuietComforts do their thing, cutting out huge swathes of background noise when on the maximum setting.
Conversely, if you want more of the outside world to seep in, the headphones adapt perfectly. Take an earbud out to have a conversation and the Bose buds don’t just pause playback, they automatically cut the noise-cancelling in the earbud left in your ear so you can hear more clearly.
Sound
That excellent noise-cancelling also allows the Bose’s superb sound quality to shine through unmolested. We kick things off with a spot of uplifting drum and bass in Delta Heavy’s White Flag VIP and from the very first beat we are captivated.
The sense of enthusiasm and excitement conveyed by the Bose buds is highly infectious. There’s power, poise and a fantastic sense of dynamism. Bass notes sound full-bodied, go deep and the QuietComfort Earbuds squeeze out lots of detail.
The quiet background allows the vocal to stand proud, before the chorus launches this track into the stratosphere. The deep, throbbing bassline oozes texture. We’d describe the Bose sound as one full of natural warmth and richness, but the music never sounds smothered – even with the noise-cancelling in its highest setting.
The QuietComfort Earbuds aren’t just a one trick pony either. Yes, they can be the life of the party when the track warrants it, but they’re also versatile enough to allow the emotion and more subtle elements of a track to leave their mark.
Play Dave’s BRIT Awards 2020 performance of Black and the Boses convey the drama and emotion of the occasion perfectly. Dave’s vocal sounds pained and poignant while the accompanying strings and piano are natural and believable. There’s a richness to the sound which you’re immediately drawn to, and lyrics flow effortlessly as the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds keenly extract every last ounce of detail.
The current class-leading Sennheiser True Momentum Wireless 2s have a slight edge in terms of outright dynamics and timing, however the Bose headphones boast superior noise-cancelling, which could be enough to swing things in their favour.
Verdict
It’s not often Bose is late to a headphone party, but with Apple, Beats, Sennheiser and Sony already offering premium wireless, noise-cancelling earbuds, the pressure was on Bose to produce something competitive right from the off – and it’s fair to say it hasn’t disappointed.
The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds are great all-rounders, capable of impressive musicality and topped off with excellent noise cancelling. They’re more than a match for any rival at this level.

MORE FROM THIS BRAND RESUME Thanks to the jeans blue color, these earbuds no longer look like a Apple clone, but in terms of sound, the Teufel Airy True Wireless still impresses us. With a dynamic low end and a rich midrange, the Teufels are more than capable of reproducing pop and electronic music.

Today no heavy review of an equally heavy amplifier, with which you can also pay off about half of your mortgage. No, on this Wednesday we keep it nice and light, with something that is as light as a feather and not too heavy on the wallet. A shorter story too, delicious with coffee. A set of in-ears, appropriately named Airy. The Teufel Airy True Wireless, to be precise.
‘Teufel Airy True Wireless’, Â a label that fits well with the current trend. Wireless audio, with a slick name, wrapped in a design that somewhat resembles Apple design, but it is not. And then from Teufel, a brand that can appeal to the real Dutch in us: a lot of good quality product, but for a low price. The Teufel Airy True Wireless is over the counter for 20190724110008 euros. In addition to the standard color black or white, the Germans have also opted for a blue jeans variant. That is secretly a really cool performance.
In your pocket or on hand That Teufel still has plenty of attention despite the price tag spent on the Airy True Wireless, that is already evident when we go through the functionality and specifications. Bluetooth 5.0 is something that strikes us, as is the IPX5 rating. That is to say splash-proof. According to Teufel, a full battery, with both the case and the in-ears fully charged, would be good for 25 hours of music.
On the outside we find the brand name , supported by an LED light and equipped with touch control. Or as Teufel calls it, Smart touch control. When we look at what functionality is linked to it, we wonder what exactly is smart about it? Because a tap to start or stop, a long touch to record a conversation, that sounds like touch control. Nothing smart about it.
Another thing you shouldn’t read about too quickly is noise cancellation. The Teufel Airy True Wireless has noise suppression in the dual microphone (which works great, by the way), but not in the earpiece. That has everything to do with calling, and nothing to do with listening to music.
Both the case and the in-ears are made of a fine plastic. It feels nice and the in-ears are provided with a very pleasant silicone tip. This also ensures that the weight is only 49 grams. During the review we often experienced that we carried the case in our pocket, but honestly did not realize that we had it with us. Which in practice even ensured that we also sometimes included our other wireless in-ears, to discover that you went out with 2 sets of in-ears.
Teufel sound After quite a few Teufel products, we have come to recognize and appreciate the sound of the Berlin brand. It can be very briefly described as â € œJust Good Soundâ €. In the Airy Wireless, this is provided by linear HD neodymium drivers, for a sound image that sounds even better than what we are used to from Teufel.
In-ears come in many varieties and sizes. We also reviewed the House of Marley Liberate Air versus the Klipsch T5. The Teufel in turn now uses the current available technology. Like the Bluetooth 5.0 with AAC transfer. The Teufel Airy True Wireless scores very well on a few points. The first is the fit, because we have never had a set of in-ears that are so good out of the box. With most models, wired or wireless, you have to switch tips a few times before you find the right fit. Not with the Teufel Airy True Wireless. The fit is so good that we hardly hear anything from the outside world. The natural damping is of a high level.
Then the music playback. The sound engineers at Teufel have opted for a sound reproduction that will appeal to many people. That is, focused on contemporary pop music. The sound image has a dynamic layer. This gives the middle, such as vocals and strings, a bit more punch. The high for details is fine, or as we are used to from Teufel, just good. We listen to the new song from Miley Cyrus â ???? Midnight Sky, the Lo-Fi Beats playlist on Spotify and the latest episode of The Boom Room.
The music is all up tempo . With a few exceptions. Miley Cyrus’s song â ???? Midnight Sky has a hint, or rather a dash, of the years 80. And we actually like that sound. The voice of Miley Cyrus mainly moves in the mid frequencies, so it gets that little bit extra from the dynamic low. It sounds full and round. Just as you expect from pop music. Synthesizers do come up high and get a good place in the sound image. An episode of The Boom Room is a nice listen. Actually, we don’t think about it anymore, and before we know it we are already an hour further.
Final Verdict We have been able to use the Teufel Airy True Wireless a little longer and have really come to appreciate the sound. The weight of the case ensures that you can easily take the set with you. It may not feel that solid and the white color smudges quickly, but despite the in-ears and case being â ???? cheapâ ???? feel, the sound certainly isn’t. The sound image is full and rich. The dynamic low and well-filled middle ensures a very good price-quality ratio. The lack of real ‘smart’ ???? controls is more than made up for by the sound quality. If this is what we can expect from Teufel in terms of audio in the future, then we would like to see more products coming our way.
Conclusion Thanks to the jeans blue color, these earbuds no longer look like an Apple clone, but in terms of sound the Teufel Airy True Wireless still manages to impress us. With a dynamic low end and a rich midrange, the Teufels are more than capable of reproducing pop and electronic music.
HDMI 2.1 has had a rather slow launch as well as silent , because although the specification was announced in January of 2017 and was launched in November of that same year, the availability of Products with this connectivity has been very limited.
However, the emergence of the first audio amplifiers with HDMI 2.1 support might not be the way that we connect our equipment to a high quality sound system, because a bug in the Panasonic HDMI 2.1 chips is causing black screens.
As is known, a bug in the aforementioned chips prevents video from being transmitted at resolutions only compatible with HDMI 2.1 , such as 4K 120 or 8K 60, both with HDR , so that although we could get sound in our speakers, the screen that is connected to the amplifier will go black due to this problem.
At Heise.de they have been able to verify that both the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Serie s like the Xbox Series X suffer from this problem when connected through an amplifier with the aforementioned chip, whereas if the amplifier is removed from the chain and connected the sending device directly to the TV, problems disappear immediately.

Power games and fear of change hinder many companies. The Holacracy organizational method is intended to help break up old hierarchies.
Organization method for companies: Holacracy brings new momentum to processes circles, roles and double links Everyone can use the constitution freely Don’t raise expectations too high Objections should be expressly desired Conclusion Article in iX 11/2020 read Holacracy, to Deut sch holacracy, is an organizational method that promises to break up encrusted hierarchies in the company and make them more agile. So it’s no wonder that many are experimenting with it – such as Audi, Deutsche Bahn and Mercedes-Benz. This article draws lessons from the introduction of the method in the German financial technology company Hypoport SE, describes known problems and gives recommendations for a good start and sustainable practice.
With his company HolacracyOne, Brian Robertson 2000 developed this method of self-organization. It is intended to replace classic top-down management. To this end, the overall purpose of the organization is defined, broken down into its sub-elements and circles, consisting of several people, roles and responsibilities. Roles and circles receive their task from the higher-level circle, but decide autonomously how to process it. In concrete terms, this has a double advantage: First, the employee can act and decide freely, he does not have to ask a manager. And secondly, he bears more responsibility.
The method formalizes the organizational structure through the so-called Holacracy constitution, which represents a general set of rules for potentially every organization. It is unique in the colorful scene of self-organization, because it precisely defines the rules according to which an organization is aligned (circles, roles, responsibilities, domains, guidelines), what authority the employees have as role fillers and what is expected of them in day-to-day business can.

In this guide we will show you which are the best bots for Discord , at less for a general use of a server of this social network, because as many of you will know, there are innumerable types of communities that can be created on this platform, and as such, may require bots of
Anyway, we will focus on bots that add useful functionalities, games and other features to Discord , which in fact, has sometimes added features that some bots or tricks have been complementing for a while due to the great popularity of a specific feature.
In the list under these lines we will see 10 bots that can be extremely useful , whether we set up a community on Discord large enough to require automated moderation ada or international support, or if we simply want to set up a small and private community with some friends where to have a good time.
The 10 best bots for Discord
Rythm
To start with this list, we find Rythm, a bot that provides us with a simple and efficient way to play music on our server without having to resort to creating some complicated configuration through our own Discord client.
Rythm is capable of playing music from YouTube, Soundcloud, Twitch and more , also having support for playlists that we can import to the bot so as not having to add songs one by one, for example.
Also, has Premium features that require a donation , something that will allow us, for example, to add songs of multiple hours or change the volume for all users of the server, although it is not necessary at all since all the basic functions work without any payment for unlimited time.
MEE6
For the moderation of larger servers, we can use MEE6, a server moderation bot that will allow us to easily manage our Discord server, thus allowing us not to waste so much time ensuring that the rules are respected in it.
Among the functionalities that MEE6 has , there is the possibility of creating custom commands to perform administration actions, such as add or delete roles , set up welcome messages, and even s customizable moderation crypts.
These fully customizable scripts will allow us that when a series of requirements are met by a user, the bot carries out an action against it, such as limit your ability to write for a while if you have made several violations in a short space of time.
We can also have a leaderboard in which server users can compete to be the most active , of course, taking into account the server rules that can be supervised by the automatic moderation function through automatic scripts.
Last but not less important, we will have alerts from YouTube, Twitch and Reddit , so if for example we have a dedicated server to a public personality with a Twitch channel, we can configure alerts whenever said streamer connects to the platform to broadcast.
ProBot
Another quite complete bot is ProBot, a bot that has automatic moderation capabilities, but combines them with other interesting details, such as multi-language support or real-time graphics on the behavior of the server.
Among its functions allows us to use templates to the welcome message , which will have images that we can design previously with the integrated editor, in addition to also having automatic responses, so that p we can create triggers that provoke a response from the bot when it reads a word in any hypothetical message.
It also has Anti-raid protection , something that is able to detect and respond in various ways to massive attacks on a server, taking advantage of the automatic moderation capabilities that it has.
Finally, we also We find a section for music reproduction , so that, if we have ProBot on our server, it would not be totally essential to have Rythm, unless we have a very large server where they can There are multiple music rooms.
dabBot
Another music called dabBot that, although it does not have as many functions as Rythm, for users who do not need them can be even better, because it is capable of receiving high audio quality from various sources, including YouTube, Twitch, Discord.fm, SoundCloud, Listen.moe, and more than 1000 UK radio stations.
We also find support for playlists, as well as for MP3 music , and as mentioned on their website Officially, new audio sources are always being added, so this is a great way to add external audio support to our Discord server without having to complicate our lives too much about it.
TriviaBot
In case its name does not completely clarify the operation of this bot, TriviaBot adds infinite Trivia games to our server, with a total of more than
questions and 50 categories to choose from , so that we can play Trivia with our friends with this simple bot that only has three commands.
Without a doubt, is one of the infinite game bots and memes that ex They are on Discord , something that we can corroborate with any quick search when adding new bots to our Discord servers. This is something that we will also see with another of the bots later.
DynoBot
DynoBot is another server moderation bot that is presented with a wide catalog of functionalities that we can use on our Discord server both to manage and moderate the server and to add additional functions, such as automatic role assignment, custom commands, announcements and reminders , among other things.
Another of the functions that DynoBot comes with, and that it shares with other administration bots, and is a music player that we can make work based on commands to have a sound track playing in the room voice we find ourselves in.
Dank Memer
In this case we find one of the less serious bots for Discord, and it is that not everything has to be be io. With a large number of commands, with Dank Memer we will be able to access different games, lotteries and memes that will allow us to have a good time whether we are accompanied or not.
Also, there are other entertainment commands, such as commands to obtain a random image of an animal, generate memes based on the Crab Rave video clip, or even make the bot return content not suitable for minors.
Either way, Dank Memer is a bot that is mainly oriented to fun and will not fulfill any function that is considered serious on a Discord server, so we will probably never see it on servers that are not focused on simple fun or hobby.
Tip.cc
A bot that we would never think we would need would be Tip.cc, a botwhich allows us to pay other Discord users with 164 different cryptocurrencies among which we find currencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum , but also We can move other types of currencies such as sidechains, stablecoins and tokens, so that mainly we can move with almost any type of currencies that we can have electronically.
Likewise, users who do not yet have a cryptocurrency portfolio may also receive payments , and in general there are no commissions or minimum payments, so there will be no no problem in this aspect.
Among its possibilities are being able to send money to a single user, send it to all users of a role, users connected to our voice channel, or even users that are broadcasting , so in the latter case we could make it work as a kind of donation to a streamer.
Friend Time
Friend Time is an extremely simple bot but it serves a very powerful, and is that its only purpose on a Discord server will be to convert the times mentioned in the messages so that all users who are in it can understand what times a user refers to.
This can also be useful when coordinating for online events , because for example, there are several occasions when a product or service launch event is announced and the launch date and time is specified in the time zone of the presentation location, so there may be some confusion that this bot can easily make disappear.
Discord Translator
Last , Discord Translator will help break another of the barriers of Discord’s international servers , and that is the language, since with a total of more than one hundred languages among which choose, the users of our server will be able to see their messages translated almost automatically, both at the choice of the sender of the message and the sender , as there are several ways to indicate to the bot to which language a certain message needs to be translated.
It is clear that not all translations will be perfect , because we have all suffered more than one mishap trying to translate complete sentences from one language to another with the different translators available on the net, but without a doubt it will be something that will do wonders for all those users who cannot defend themselves with languages like English.
It should be noted that it is a paid bot , so not everyone will be willing to put it on their server, but if we depend heavily on a function of this type, it can be money well spent.
Discord is much more complete with bots
Without a doubt, Discord bots are capable of adding large doses of functionality and even fun to the servers to which that enter, which is why some are found in several million servers around the world for an infinite nature of themes.
Therefore, it is common to meet more users experienced ones who have their “toolbox” of known good bots , because sometimes it can be difficult to find some bots like the ones on this list or we can end up with variants much less powerful or than any other reason they do not work well for what we want.
Be that as it may, these are the 17 best bots that we can introduce in our Discord server, although it does not mean that we have to put the 17 on our server , as their functions would overlap to a great extent.

Smart heating creates comfort and saves energy. This reduces the running heating costs. In this buying guide, we show you what to look for when buying.
When the talk is of smart heating, in most cases you mean radiator thermostats with an app connection, which replace the old, manual ones . These sit directly on the radiator and regulate the temperature there. We have tested many of them in the past. Which is the best, we show in the top – 10: The best smart radiator thermostats. There is a large comparison in the comparison test 2020: The best smart radiator thermostats. We collect all guides and individual tests on our Smart Heating topic page.
In addition to the radiator thermostats on the radiator, smart solutions are also possible directly on the heating system or on the underfloor heating. What they all have in common is location-independent control via smartphone and voice control via Alexa and / or Google Assistant and / or Siri. They often need a bridge, get on with room thermostats and other smart home devices, and offer special functions such as geofencing. This purchase advice gives an overview.
Smart radiator thermostats Smart radiator thermostats can be used wherever there are classic radiators with rotary controls, the thermostat, in the room. This “stupid” thermostat can now be made “smart”. In the vast majority of cases, this works quite easily. All you have to do is loosen a screw ring with a pipe wrench or a French, remove the old thermostat and replace it with the new one. Great technical understanding is not necessary for this. Nobody has to fear water damage either, as the water cycle remains closed. Installers should not take too much time, as the radiators can be turned on fully without the thermostat screwed on and can get very hot.
Tado Thermostat V3 + (11 Pictures) It only becomes complicated when the radiator is hidden behind panels or a fitted kitchen, for example. Here you should make sure to buy a relatively small radiator thermostat. We recommend the thermostats Wiser Heat, Fritzdect 301 and Tado V3 + have an advantage because they are smaller than Innogy, Homematic IP, Comet DECT, Bosch and Eve Thermo.
The thermostats from Tado offer a bayonet lock to make them easier in hard-to-reach places to install. On the other hand, they can be detached from the radiator with a handle, for example to replace batteries.
Heating system If you have access to the heating system, it becomes confusing. This is simply because there are countless variants, including thermal baths, central heating or district heating. Tenants with central heating do not have the option of installing smart extension boxes there and have to limit themselves to local room control. If you have access, the expansion box switches directly in front of the boiler and connects wirelessly or wired to a wall thermostat.
The Homematic-IP control unit for underfloor heating. Before buying, you should be clear about whether the targeted solution supports your own heating system. If you don’t have an exotic in the basement, that shouldn’t be a problem. For example, Tado claims in its compatibility guide to support almost all heating systems. All providers of corresponding solutions provide such a list. The app usually guides you through the installation, which is no longer as simple as replacing a thermostat. If in doubt, we recommend consulting a specialist installer.
Once installed, they function similarly to a smart radiator thermostat. The extension boxes work best and most reliably with the room solutions in the form of a thermostat from the same manufacturer.
Bridge For central control, the thermostats usually communicate via a wireless connection standard with a bridge, which is either in the WLAN or directly on the router. But there are exceptions. Eve Thermo (test report) communicates directly with Apple devices via Bluetooth, Android is not supported. A Bluetooth bridge is also available on request, more details here. With it, the Eve solutions are permanently in the network, so location-independent control is also possible from the office, for example. AVM Fritzdect 301 (22 Pictures) Also AVM Fritzdect 301 (test report) and Comet DECT Thermostat (test report) come in a starter pack without a bridge, as they connect directly to a compatible Fritzbox via DECT (7490, 7580 and 7590 compared). A bridge is simply not necessary here, which saves money and an additional device that is permanently connected to the power – if you have a DECT-capable router.
Most other smart radiator thermostats use a proprietary radio protocol 868 MHz. Devolo (test report) relies on Z-Wave and Wiser Heat (test report) on Zigbee. Nevertheless, they absolutely need their own bridge. Because Wiser Heat does not connect to the Zigbee bridge from Philips Hue (test report starter kit) or a Zigbee-enabled Amazon Echo Plus 2 (test report).
The bridges are usually attached to the router via LAN cables. Some like the bridge from Tado use the router’s USB-A port for power supply, others like the bridge from Bosch (test report) require the supplied USB power supply unit. Bridges with WLAN, as offered by Wiser and Netatmo (test report), have the advantage that they can be placed regardless of location and do not block a LAN port on the router.
functions All smart thermostats come with an app. There the user can determine the current target temperature and set schedules. This usually also works from the cellular network, so it is location-independent. Some thermostats are based on the current outside temperature when setting the temperature. If you switch them off in summer, they turn the heating on and off again at regular intervals so that the valve, the pin on the radiator, remains movable.
Bosch smart radiator thermostat (8 images) All smart radiator thermostats have a temperature sensor, most of them log the actual temperature. Some also measure the humidity and include it in the statistics. On request, many detect a sudden drop in temperature, such as occurs when a window is opened for ventilation, and turn off the heating. Sounds good, but in practice it often works less well than hoped. In some cases we had to put an ice pack on the radiator thermostat to provoke it to turn off. In the case of underfloor heating, such an automatic system does not make sense anyway because of its inertia.
Some systems such as Tado support geofencing, i.e. include the location data of the residents. Tado turns off the radiators when all residents are out and back on when they approach. Others understand complex if-then routines or the IFTTT automation service, which is now chargeable.
If you attach particular importance to data security, you should look at the solution from AVM and Eve. There the data is not stored in the cloud, but on the router, or in the devices themselves or on the mobile device.
Netatmo smart radiator thermostat – screenshots (33 Pictures) Basically, all systems respond to calls after being appropriately integrated, making temperature control particularly convenient. Few of them, such as Tado Thermostat V3 + (test report) and Netatmo (test report), know the three big voice assistants from Google, Amazon and Apple. Almost everyone knows Alexa, but not Eve Thermo (test report), who only listens to Siri.
The systems differ significantly in terms of their range of functions and the usability of the app. For a better overview, we recommend our comparison test 2019: The best smart radiator thermostats and then reading the individual tests.
Smart Home The thermostats use an integrated sensor to determine the room temperature, which, due to the design, is always very close to the radiator. For many, the buyer can set an offset temperature via the app, i.e. always subtract a few degrees from the measured temperature in order to get closer to the actual temperature in the middle of the room. Using a room thermostat is more elegant and accurate. This then hangs, for example, near the couch, where the comfortable temperature should be achieved. Most systems have their own room thermostat for this, but not all.
Wiser Heat (6 images) In general, if you are interested in using it when deciding on a system, you should make sure that there are other compatible smart home components. For example, a window contact helps to reliably turn off the heating when the window is open.
Prices The prices of the individual thermostats vary from about 25 to 70 Euro. In larger households with many radiators, this can add up to considerable amounts. The thermostat from Comet is very cheap, followed by Innogy. Buyers have to buy a little more for the temperature controllers Homematic IP, Bosch, Fritzdect 301 and Wiser put …. on the table. The most expensive system comes from Tado. It should be noted here that with Innogy after twelve months and with Tado V3 + from the start, follow-up costs are incurred for some functions in the form of a subscription model.
An AVM Fritzdect 301 Thermostat (test report) costs about 45 Euro, the Compatible Comet DECT thermostat (test report) currently only good 30 Euro. You connect directly to a Fritzbox, there is no additional bridge. This means that entry into the smart heating world with the AVM / Comet solution is relatively cheap, provided you already have a compatible Fritzbox. Bosch smart radiator thermostat (test report) wants for its starter set consisting of two thermostats, a window contact and the bridge 175 Euro.
In the Homematic IP starter set (test report), buyers will find a thermostat and the access point as well as an optical window contact. If you want to integrate the Homematic IP thermostats into your existing Homematic system, you can do without the access point and use the individual thermostats, which are for example 50 Euro.
Eve Thermo (test report) costs well 60 Euro. An iPhone, iPad or Macbook is required for setup and operation. The Innogy starter set comes with 135 Euro for three thermostats and the bridge almost a bargain compared to the others. Each Innogy thermostat (test report) costs about 50 Euro. Innogy sells many other compatible smart home components. Attention: After twelve months, subscription fees apply.
The Tado Thermostat V3 + (test report) costs about with a thermostat and bridge Euro. With Wiser Heat Thermostat (test report) the entry is because of the cost-intensive WLAN-B
Side 1: High-End for 499 Euro: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Founders Edition in the test
Now that the GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3090 are presented and at least theoretically available, today the GeForce RTX 3070, which for the time being as the smallest Expansion stage of the ampere generation has its appearance. This will initially take the form of the Founders Edition, with custom designs to follow in two days. At least from today we can sound out what NVIDIA’s mid-range models have to offer.
Tomorrow, Wednesday 28. October, AMD will launch its Radeon RX – 6000 – Introduce the series. NVIDIA should originally do this for 12. and then on the 29. It was therefore not entirely by chance that the embargo set in October was applied to this day. To move the GeForce RTX 3070 it came because the demand for the larger models was and still is so high that they wanted to give themselves and their partners a little more time to stock up. Whether this has been successful will only be seen in the coming days, when the cards should also be available in stores.

Unlike the GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3090 uses the GeForce RTX 3070 not the GA 102 – GPU, but the GA 104. This comes on a chip area of 384, 5 mm² and 17, 4 billion transistors – so it is only 2/3 as large and complex as the GA 102 – GPU. For the GeForce RTX 3070 uses NVIDIA 46 SMs (Streaming Multiprocessor) each with 128 FP 32- and 64 INT 32 Computing units. So we come to 5. 888 FP 32 – and 2. 944 INT 32 – units of calculation. For each SM, the card also offers a second generation RT core and four third generation tensor cores. We have the structure of the SMs as well as the innovations of the RT and tensor cores at the start of the GeForce RTX 3080 already illuminate more precisely.
The L2 cache is in the GA 104 – GPU 4.0 96 kB large. For the GeForce RTX 3080 this amounts to 5. 120 kB and the GeForce RTX 3090 can be changed to 6. 144 kB access.
NVIDIA has the ROPs otherwise coupled to the memory interface or the render backend with the Ampere architecture housed in the GPC (Graphics Processing Clusters). Therefore it is also possible that the GeForce RTX 3070 on 96 ROPs comes where previously only 64 were possible.

Compared to GeForce RTX 2070 shows: The GeForce RTX 3070 offers more than twice as many FP 32 – arithmetic units, 28% more INT 30 – arithmetic units and an equal plus with the RT cores. The number of tensor cores is only 45% of the previously existing units, but theoretically they are twice as fast – this is how the minus should be compensated again. There are no major differences in timing.
The memory expansion is identical with 8 GB and GDDR6 is still used here. This is again via a 256 Bit wide memory interface connected and thus comes to a Memory bandwidth from 445 GB / s. The GeForce RTX 3070 draws its extra power completely from the GPU.
The significantly more complex GA 104 – GPU, should also be the decisive factor in the higher consumption. Approved the GeForce RTX 2070 yet 185 W, it is with the GeForce RTX 3070 now 220 W and the difference of 45 W should be found almost exclusively in the GPU. For this comparison you should also use the GeForce RTX 2017 Keep in mind that the GPU expansion, clock rate and consumption have already increased compared to the original model.
NVIDIA seems to be the Founders Edition of the GeForce RTX 02762 to position a little differently than this for the GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3090 the case is. While you give your partners less leeway here in terms of performance, the published clock rates indicate that the custom models of the GeForce RTX 3070 could sometimes be significantly faster than is the case for the Founders Edition.

Introduction to GeForce RTX Features 3080 Founders Edition
The GeForce RTX 3080 arrives a little later than expected, but without a doubt it is the card that we all hope to see in the market to have the performance of an RTX 2100 Ti at a fraction of the price and in a more compact format, which invites us to think that we will be able to see ITX models in a future more near. The design of the card we are reviewing today, Nvidia’s Founders Edition version, is similar to that of its sisters, but with a more traditional fan mounting, without the inlet and outlet design in reverse position on the card.
What I like to see is that Nvidia maintains the same modern and effective design with a large main radiator, which goes well beyond the PCB design that is very small, and is powered by two large fans of axial configuration. the only connector of is also kept latest generation pins , capable of developing more of 720 watts with single connector to power supply.
In fact, we have been able to test this card with a native connection of 16 pins thanks to the dedicated connectors that Seasonic already has on the market and that will go standard with its new fonts and gifts for those users who request them and who have bought selected models of the brand.

New features of the second generation Nvidia Ray Tracing
This is the second generation of cards Nvidia’s RTX, which comes with Samsung’s new 8nm manufacturing process, and major architecture improvements. I am not going to go into much detail, since here we have an extensive article dedicated to all the news about these new GPUs, but I do want to highlight some of the most important elements that characterize this generation.
Among the improvements introduced in this generation the RTX 3080 begins to see some cuts with respect to the most powerful models of the brand. One of the examples is found in the memory used, which is reduced to GDDR6 compared to the latest generation GDDR6X of the RTX 3090 and RTX 3600. The data bus speed is reduced to 18 GBps, compared to 22 Gbps of his older sisters and that, added to the bus also shorter than 288 – Bit, in a reduction of 70% of the year of band on the magnificent RTX 3090. The VRAM or framebuffer also has a 2GB cut, leaving a healthy and reasonable 8GB of VRAM.
This model also enjoys the new RT Core from second generation that are capable of doubling the calculation power of triangular intersections over the previous generation. In addition, the possibility of calculating widespread effects such as Motion Blur by hardware is introduced. The Tensor Core are also entering their third generation and it does so by reducing the number of units available in the GPU, but still quadrupling the processing capacity of the entire system in terms of AI-oriented sparse matrix calculation.
The RTX will really compete with the RTX 2100 You, but it is not the generation to which it happens, your target is definitely the RTX 2080 and cards its competition in AMD’s RDNA architecture. In fact, in many ways they are two very similar cards, more than the RTX is 3080 to RTX 2100 Ti. Both have the same data bus, with the same RAM capacity and the same type of memory at the same speed.
The most notable differences are found in the configuration of the GPU, with its manufacturing process and architecture improvements that make this card achieve far superior performances, up to 33 – 48% over the reference models of the previous generation maintaining a very similar price. Among the differences we see more than double the number of CUDA units, going from 3060 until the
shading engines .
Classic rasterization units also increase from 96 units up to 112, beating RTX by 8 2100 Ti, and the texture units go from 175 units up to 235 units. This means that in all game formats, even the oldest ones with DirectX 9 engines, we will see notable performance increases from one generation to the next. Other interesting differences are seen in the RT Core, with 13 more units reaching 60 units, or in Tensor Core units that the new architecture reduces in number to increase power passing from 322 units in the RTX 2080 to just 235 on the RTX 3080 .
The frequencies also have improvements thanks to the reduced manufacturing process, the RTX 2020 had 1410 MHz base frequency and up to 1620 MHz in turbo frequency. The new GeForce RTX 3080 increases the base frequency until 1440 MHz and turbo frequency up to 1730 MHz though later we will see that this same model works with much higher cycles when it has the adequate cooling margin.
By reducing the expectations of both chips we can add other interesting data, such as processing power, which passes from 19 TFlops to 21 TFlops keeping the RTX 3060 performance in both half and full calculations and exceeding by a 70% in double precision calculation. On the other hand, this model has more consumption 240 w , Over the 184 w of the RTX 2080, but 33 w less than RTX 2080 Ti to which it equals in performance.
These new chips ets also have another important feature that makes systems like Nvidia’s DLSS even more efficient. The concurrency of process threads between the Tensor and Shaders units, developed in the version DLSS 2.0 of this technology, allows to generate images of higher resolution and with more detail with less process load for the graph, achieving in these models performance improvements of up to 75% in some games.
Nvidia Reflex and Nvidia Studio are also new in this generation, although they will also be available at least for RTX cards 23 with driver updates coming soon. Nvidia Studio will delight streamers by turning their cards into smart systems capable of generating a green screen and complete environment customizations thanks to the AI capabilities of these cards. Nvidia Reflex is intended to improve latencies with real-time measurements if we also have the new generation of Nvidia Gsync monitors from 378 Hz. Reflex allows the GPU to receive information from the CPU even before it has rendered the previous frame, which reduces latencies beyond Nvidia’s previous technology called NULL (Nvidia Ultra Low Latency) and requires adaptation by the developer, the game must be supported.
RTX IO is another of the improvements that will allow download to the central processor decompressing content from the storage media. This will now be done, in ready games, directly from the GPU, improving according to Nvidia, the loading times substantially.
Other substantial changes over the previous generation is that now the card has support for PCI Express 4.0 achieving double bandwidth towards the CPU. We will have a total of 34. 5GBps of bandwidth, double that of the previous generation, maintaining that yes, the support for previous generations such as PCI Express 3.0. The USB-C port is also one of the novelties, for the worse, since Nvidia discards it from this generation since its incorporation to the desktop computer market was scarce and there is not now a great expectation of VR systems that use this connector to unify video, sound, data and power in a single cable.
The new Founders design
This model shares the same modern design of the second generation Nvidia RTX, but there are substantial changes with other models that we have already tested, such as the RTX 3090 Founders Edition . The designs are similar but the size is different, more compact and the thermal design also has important changes, this model being more traditional in its concept of card cooling.
It must also be taken into account that consumption is much lower and therefore a more traditional design is perfectly capable of carrying out the card with the noise and frequency settings that Nvidia expects in this card.
Despite being a couple of centimeters shorter than the RTX 3090 FE, it hardly differs at all in terms of the essence of the design. The small PCB less than 16 cm allows Nvidia to dedicate the entire back of the card to heatsink. The connector of 16 pins is also in the same middle position of the card, although now in parallel to the profile of the card and as a big difference, the two fans are on the same side of the card, in a more traditional design.
The PCB could well be used in graphics cards Mini-ITX size that has dimensions of less than 15 cm long . Much of the body of the radiator card, configured in angled blades, exactly the same as in its older sisters.
This nice black dissipation block is combined with two axial fans, which are especially efficient in moving large air flows where no special pressure is required. These two fans of 75 mm have fully passive operating mode when the The card is idle and its rotation speed is increasing independently depending on the requirement to which the card is subjected.
This new connector of 16 contacts is also added to the new PCI Express 4.0 interface of these models that can extract up to 184 w of power from the connector itself, which facilitates the RTX 3070 with connector 17 contacts at a maximum consumption of 807 w. A graphics card with two 8-pin connectors and PCI Express 3.0 slot could only be powered with a maximum of 388 w.
Finally, when it comes to connectors, these new models are completely standard, but they also have the most modern connectors. We can find in it three connectors Displayport 1.4 with support for 8k resolutions to 75 Hz with HDR support of 13 Bit and up to 4k at 150 Hz with the same color capacity per channel.
Also included is a HDMI 2.1 connector that is capable of displaying resolutions up to 13 k also ensuring 8k support to 75 Hz as in the case of Displayport 1.4a. In fact, it generates more bandwidth, specifically 64 GBps vs. 34 Displayport GBps, but basically, nowadays, they support the same technologies.
What we will no longer see in these models, neither in the RTX 3080, is the USB-C connector that was introduced with the RTX generation 23 and that it was intended to support HMD devices for VR with a single cable where we would have data, video and power with a single cable. Virtual link or Displayport Alternate Mode seems defenestrated from the desktop landscape, although in laptops it is more widespread every day both in its basic USB-C versions and in the Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 4 connective standards. Noise, consumption and temperature at standard speeds
Nvidia’s reference model once again proves that it is a great option to get the services of one of its latest chips. Not only does it have an adequate thermal design, with a very controlled noise, but they are also well scaled in terms of energy and performance, achieving higher working frequencies than those actually specified for the card.
During our stability, temperature and noise tests we have been able to verify that the card is capable of widely and stably exceeding the 1845 MHz, oscillating between 1815 – 1860 MHz in real operation seeking to stabilize the temperature of the card above the 104 degrees. Maintains these temperatures with fan speeds of 1545 rpm achieving noise levels always below 48 dBA. The card holds about 235 MHz at rest, with temperatures below 48 degrees. The two fans stop completely when the card reduces its temperature below the 40 degrees , although it takes a few minutes to do so even when it is below this temperature, and it starts working after 64 degrees, according to our tests.
Increasing the feeding possibilities of the card a 21%, which is what Nvidia supports in this model, we can increase the temperature up to 104 degrees and card now is able to increase its frequency of normal use up to 1900 – 1914 very stable and with a frequency increase of 360 rpm that increases noise by a couple of dBA. For me it is the perfect operation for the card, operation that I can maintain over time without problems.
The consumptions are as expected, we have added these data to our comparative tables of the latest models. In its normal state, it is around 245 w of consumption and with some increase in frequencies, without manual overclocking, we can see around 256 w consumption in the general operation of the card.
Thermal capture at rest
Thermal capture on load
Overclock
The less consumption and less squeezed the design of a GPU, the more overclocking capabilities they usually present. It is true that as we have seen before Nvidia has done a great job with its reference design and the card performs even more than promised in the specifications. Even so, we have found room for improvement in this card, a very interesting margin that allows the RTX 3080 FE hover around 2GHz maintaining its temperatures of 112 degrees and increasing the fans up to 2100 rpm with hardly any increase in noise, about 50 dBA.
2GHz frequency are 270 MHz more than specified by Nvidia for this GPU and represents a significant performance improvement that we can maintain over time without the need to touch any voltage. Consumption increases a little, up to 300 w in charge. Something natural and I must add that in no state have we detected “coil-whine” problems.

Analysis and conclusion
This card does not greatly outperform the previous generation models, that is so, it hardly improves on the RTX 2100 Ti in current games and the new features will take time to be seen in games so many will think that it is a model that is not so worth it. The difference is that it costs 532 Euros and at this price it is difficult to find RTX 70
For me it is actually the best model of the series, even still to see the expected RTX 3070, but even so I think this is the one that best defines the range, surpassing the best models of the previous one, consuming less and offering new features.
Its sound behavior is great, much more refined than the RTX 3090 that we tested with serious “coil-whine” problems, with very good levels of auto overclocking from the factory, with a modern power connector that offers almost triple the power required the card and with a PCB design that we could soon see used in ITX format cards with great processing power.
Considering the results and the behavior is not the fastest card in the series, but for me it is the most interesting of all and it will surely be the goal set for or anyone who wants to play at 2k resolutions with high sample rates and investing the right amount for it.

Previous generations of Creative Outlier Air and Creative Outlier Air Sports wireless in-ear headphones were very popular, although some users reported problems with sticking physical buttons. Personally, I was able to test a very similar Creative Outlier Gold design with the same design, but I did not experience these problems myself. The voices of the profession, however, as you can see, reached the manufacturer, which is why he decided to introduce new versions of headphones to the market, equipped with, among others with modern touch panels. However, this is not the end of changes. The Creative Outlier Air Sports V2 model was priced at 399, and Creative Outlier Air V2 at 349 zlotys. Both models will soon appear in Polish stores.
Creative introduces the second generation of Outlier Air V2 and Outlier Air Sports V2 wireless headphones – from now on, wireless headsets have gained: in. touch control.
Creative Outlier Test Gold – Golden headphones, also portable
As the manufacturer emphasizes, the new version of the headphones has been completely internally rebuilt, gaining new functions and maintaining the sound standard offered by their predecessor. The new Outlier Air V2 and Outlier Air Sports V2 wireless headphones are technically comparable models. The difference is due to the additives that improve the ergonomics of use. The Outlier Air Sports V2 headset was created on the basis of comments provided by triathlon competitors, including the current Polish Champion in Ironman 70 .3 by Ewa Komander. As a result of this cooperation, the Air Sports V2 set has been additionally equipped with the smallest earbuds to increase the penetration of sounds from the street into the ears, increasing safety, allowing for running but also cycling in public places.
Creative Sound BlasterX Katana Test Soundbar with a sound card
In addition, the set includes a useful wristband with a pocket, thanks to which you can hide the headphones so that they do not get lost, or one of them when you want to comfortably talk on the phone. The two series are easy to distinguish thanks to the bright orange markings on the headphones and sports case. The headphones are equipped with new touch panels that are designed to improve the functionality of the entire set. Now all you have to do is touch any button on the handset to turn on or off music playback, answer or end a call, or use the voice assistant function without using the phone. One would like to say that the brand’s sports headphones have finally entered the 21st century.
Creative Outlier Active v2 headphones test – when good gets better
Compared to its big brother, the second version of Creative Outlier Air Sports V2 wireless headphones , is to offer longer operation of the entire set on a single charge, so up to 34 hours. The headphones themselves can last up to 12 hours of moderate use. We will get the next 22 working hours when we use the case, which is also a powerbank for these headphones . The set includes a USB-C charging cable. For athletes, a very important information will be the fact that the resistance to sweat, dust or moisture, provided by the IPX5 certificate, has not been given up. A welcome novelty, however, is support for Siri and Google voice assistants.

Foldable smartphones are the future. At least that’s what the manufacturers who build them say. But regardless of that, that sounds conclusive, after all, with the size of today’s smartphone in the unfolded state, you can achieve full usability thanks to a display that is larger than 6 inches when opened, or half the size of today’s smartphone. With Samsung’s first smartphone with a foldable display, the Galaxy Fold 5G (test report), we focused on the advantages, while we were happy to turn a blind eye to the obvious disadvantages of the first of its kind. There are now several foldable models – from our own company, but also from the competition. Accordingly, the air becomes thinner and mistakes like in the first fold are increasingly important. With the successor, the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 5G, the manufacturer has learned a lot and avoids some pitfalls that were annoying with the first release. Is that enough to make it onto the mass market?
Design One of the biggest flaws of the Samsung Galaxy Fold 5G ( Test report) was the much too small display on the front of the folded smartphone. It was little more than an information screen, nobody really wanted to work on it, although it offered this option as a full-fledged touchscreen. Apart from the lack of practicality, which repeatedly forced the user to open the somewhat clunky smartphone, the tiny panel with the much too thick edges also looked absolutely old-fashioned. Samsung does it differently with the successor.
There is now a 6.2-inch and thus largely format-filling external display, which thanks to OLED technology again offers an always-on display. It comes in the elongated 25: 9 format and thus differs significantly from the almost square interior display when unfolded, even if it doesn’t seem that much larger at 7.6 inches on paper. Although the exterior display with its more modern dimensions is much better designed than its predecessor, owners of the Fold 2 still do not get a conventional user experience. This is due to two things: On the one hand, the edges around the panel are still too wide for this – especially in view of the high price of the Galaxy Fold 2. On the other hand, the second fold is also far from being considered handy.
Although the construction depth of 17, 1 millimeter on the Samsung Galaxy Fold 5G (test report) to 16,8th Millimeters has shrunk, but this progress is rather negligible. That doesn’t change the fact that the device is still pretty thick when folded and is therefore noticeable in every pocket. Also not so nice, even if more and more common in expensive top smartphones: The camera unit of the Fold 2 stands out clearly from the otherwise elegant glass housing (Invictus glass aka Gorilla Glass 6), as in the models of the S and Note series. The eye-catching hinge, with which the Fold 2 is opened and closed, looks like its predecessor at first glance, but Samsung actually worked hard on this. Even if there are no changes to the basic functionality (among other things, the two insides of the display still do not close flat to protect against scratching and the shape of the hinge means that the smartphone is still reminiscent of a harmonica) there are certainly innovations . The Fold 2 can now be opened at any angle so that it can be placed on the table like a small laptop. Thanks to adapted software, this is recognized and used accordingly – more on this in the Equipment chapter.
As with the predecessor, there is nothing to complain about in the processing. Irregular gaps are just as rare as a crunching hinge. As with the first fold (after its initial problems), this is very durable and robust. Despite its potential fragility due to glass as a material, this applies to the entire smartphone – also because of the aluminum frame with the perfectly embedded antenna joints.
All pictures of the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 5G in the test (26 Pictures) Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 5G Display Samsung is building a 6.2 inch OLED display on the outside of the Galaxy Fold 2 5G with 2260 × 816 (386 ppi) and inside a 7.6 inch OLED with 2208 × 1768 Inch (378 ppi) a. Both screens are capable of HDR 10 + and enter content with 120 Hz again. In the test, both panels impress with great color intensity, rich black and excellent contrasts. The viewing angle stability is perfect, it couldn’t be better. The brightness is with 256 cd / m2 sufficient in manual mode, it increases in automatic mode for a short period of time again significantly longer than 816 cd / m2. With this, Samsung again offers top values as with models like the Samsung Galaxy S 20 Ultra (test report) or the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra (test report).
The opened interior display is particularly impressive, which in addition to the qualities described above also scores with its sheer size. With very similar housing dimensions compared to the predecessor, the display diagonal has grown from 7.3 to 7.6 inches, with Samsung making the greatest progress with the placement of the front camera. While the manufacturer housed the first Galaxy Fold (test report) in an expansive giant notch, which disturbed the overall impression, especially with format-filling content such as videos, Samsung uses a contemporary punchhole notch for the new model. This not only looks much more modern, but is also much less disturbing when using it. In addition, the screen is now completely rectangular without indentation.
Giant display – the fold in the middle no longer bothers after a short time Samsung Uses Invictus glass from Corning for the casing of the smartphone, while the surface of the foldable screen consists of a proprietary mixture of glass and plastic. It feels more like glass than before and should also be significantly more scratch-resistant, but you can see and feel the kink as before. This is especially noticeable with dark content and even then you get used to it quickly, so that the wavy transition is hardly noticeable later.
Camera Samsung installs three cameras in the Galaxy Fold 2 5G, all three offer 12 Megapixels. The main camera offers an aperture of f / 1.8 with optical image stabilization (OIS), the second f / 2.4 with OIS and double magnification and the third lens f / 2.2 and wide angle. A dedicated front camera would not be necessary at all, as the main cameras can be used for selfies thanks to the folding mechanism, Samsung still packs an additional front camera 10 Megapixels and f / 2.2 with in the device . This allows users to snap selfies without opening the smartphone beforehand.
Main camera similar to Note 20 Ultra The picture quality is on the whole on the level of Samsung Galaxy S in good light 20 Ultra (test report) and Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra (test report). Image noise is almost impossible to find, the image dynamics are convincing and colors are banned sufficiently naturally into the memory. Image sharpness and image details are convincing overall, even if a few competitors such as a Huawei P 40 Pro (test report) still slightly ahead. There are restrictions in comparison to the models mentioned above in two respects: The teleoptics only allow 2-fold optical magnification, here are now 3, 5 and even 10-subject possible. In addition, the performance in the lowlight area cannot quite keep up with the models listed. Videos with the Fold 2 5G look almost like they were recorded with a steadycam, the image stabilization is so good even in 4K / 60. The Selfiecam delivers good results, but for optimal image quality, users should rather access the main camera right away.

Furnishing As with the predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Fold 5G (test report), Samsung does not use an in-house Exynos-P for the Fold 2 either processor, but a Qualcomm chipset. The new model is a Snapdragon 865 +, that of proud 10 GByte RAM is supported – no wonder so that the model performs absolutely smoothly and extremely quickly. In conjunction with the 120 Hertz of the image reproduction, the smartphone reacts in all Life situations quickly and incredibly directly. In addition, scrolling through menus or in the web browser is wonderfully fluid, only smartphones with a higher Hertz number can do that. In the Antutu benchmark, Fold 2 achieved correspondingly convincing 565. 00 0 points.
When it comes to hardware, there is hardly anything that does not exist. Wifi 6, LTE and 5G, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type C 3.2, in this country “only” 188 GByte internal UFS 3.1 memory with expandability via micro SD card and the new short-range radio Ultra Wide Band (UWB) – what more could you ask for? We also really liked the stereo speakers that are positioned to the left and right of the display and emit powerful and loud sound. The fingerprint sensor in the power button works quickly and reliably. In addition to the built-in eSIM, users can now also insert a physical SIM into the Fold 2 and can therefore look forward to dual SIM operation.
In addition to the new hardware, Samsung has also given the Fold 2 great software that has been adapted to the large, foldable display. As indicated, the hardware also manages intensive multitasking with ease, the user interface allows multiple apps to be displayed at the same time, which can be easily moved using drag & drop. In addition, the software reacts when the display is opened at any angle – for example, to put it on the table like a small laptop. Programs such as Youtube or the camera app then switch to a two-part view that offers additional options. In the examples mentioned, users can then watch the video they want and at the same time search for other videos or scroll through the comments. In the camera app, the viewfinder is still shown at the top, while the last pictures are shown in a larger view at the bottom – practical.
The software detects when the display is angled and changes the display to some apps In general, users can choose between tablet and smartphone mode. In tablet mode, icons are smaller, so more fits on the screen. The smartphone mode is like other Samsung smartphones. Some apps such as Outlook or Spotify also automatically use the tablet view in opened mode in order to be able to display more information. On our test device is Android 01 with security patch from October 1st installed.
Battery pack The flexibility of the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 5G with its two fully usable displays naturally requires a strong battery – otherwise the fun will come to an end quickly. The predecessor convinced despite only 2260 mAh strong battery positive and achieved permanent load
