29 boards: MSI introduces the Intel 500 mainboard range
Source: Hardware Luxx added 12th Jan 2021On Monday ASUS had already seized the opportunity and at least the Z 590 motherboards including prices and availability information presented. MSI also made an official announcement yesterday about the new boards for Intel’s Rocket Lake S processors, whereby MSI not only has the big Z 590 – PCH, but the B 560 and H 510 chipset are also taken into account.
Regardless of whether the Z 590 -, B 560 – or H 510 – chipset, MSI always starts with the PRO series when it comes to motherboards. Beginners can, for example, with the models H 510 M PRO and H 510 MA PRO, which were manufactured in Micro-ATX format, be satisfied. With the H 510 I PRO WIFI there is alternatively a more compact H 510 I PRO WIFI. Most of the new PRO motherboards have received the B 560 chipset, which is now officially enabled by Intel for RAM overclocking.
With the B 560 – PCH it starts with the gaming mainboards at MSI, more precisely with the MSI- Arsenal Gaming Series (MAG for short). Starting with MAG B 560 M BAZOOKA, MAG B 560 M MORTAR ( WIFI) and the MAG B 560 TORPEDO are the usual suspects on board. The MAG B 560 TOMAHAWK WIFI is also not missing at this point and is always considered the MAG flagship among the mainboards. The only member of the MSI performance gaming family (MPG for short) is the MPG B 560 I GAMING EDGE WIFI in the small Mini-ITX format. Other ATX offshoots will certainly follow at a later date. Here is an overview of the MSI-B 560 mainboards:
- B 560 M PRO-E
- B 560 MA PRO
- B 560 M PRO
- B 560 M PRO WIFI
- B 560 M PRO-VDH
- B 560 M PRO-VDH WIFI

All in all 14 Z 590 – Mainboards come from MSI
Whole 14 Boards with Z 590 chipset MSI has planned, which includes of course, many well-known people have gathered, but also two new models are part of the game. The Z 590 PRO WIFI and the Z 590 – A PRO cover the PRO series , for the MAG series go the MAG Z 590 TORPEDO and the MAG Z 590 TOMAHAWK WIFI in the running and the MPG series is well represented with five variants. New at this point is the MPG Z 590 GAMING FORCE. The MPG Z 590 GAMING CARBON WIFI has been significantly revised not only for the RGB lighting, but also for the VRM cooler, which now has far more cooling fins and the 18 CPU performance levels and the voltage converter itself keeps the temperature. The debug LED is also new.
Even if MSI with the AMD-B 550 chipset has a The only exception is that the MSI Enthusiast Gaming product range (MEG for short) is reserved for the Z 590 – PCH. The MEG Z 590 UNIFY and MEG Z 590 I UNIFY are intended for enthusiasts without RGB LEDs – Address claims. The former is made in ATX format, the second in the significantly smaller Mini-ITX format. It then continues with the MEG Z 590 ACE, the vice flagship, which according to our count 19 CPU phases and also offers the usual, upscale equipment with onboard convenience. A kind of special version is supposed to be the MEG Z 590 ACE GOLD EDITION, which apparently only has a different look to offer.

Anyone who has paid attention up to this point will have noticed that finally the MEG Z 590 GODLIKE is missing, which of course is allowed to sit thrones again as the flagship. And with the MEG Z 590 GODLIKE, MSI is daring a completely new design language that was only hinted at in the other models, if at all. An extensively equipped E-ATX mainboard is hidden under the massive cladding. The 20 phases are connected directly and are each controlled by a 90 A-Smart-Power-Stage-Converter fired and thus comes to a theoretical total output of a full 1. 800 Amps.
The MEG Z 590 GODLIKE itself offers four M.2 M-Keys, one of which is connected with PCIe 4.0 x4 via the Rocket Lake S processor can act. But with the M.2-XPander-Z-Gen4 expansion card, further M.2 SSDs can be integrated into the system. Further highlights are two Thunderbolt 4 connectors with Type-C connectors, plus Wi-Fi 6E via Intel’s AX 210 module and Bluetooth 5.2 support, 10 GBit / s and 2.5 GBit / s LAN. For the optics, there is a 3D RGB optics with the MSI gaming kite and the Dynamic Dashboard II, which can also be used for troubleshooting and makes a dedicated debug LED superfluous.
When and at what prices MSI offered the above range of Z 590 -, B 560 – and H 510 – will offer mainboards to the end customer has not yet been determined. However, we assume that, like with ASUS, it will kick off with some boards in early February. In general, the H 570 mainboards are still missing, which will certainly follow later.
