There are probably not many users who use Edge on Mac, however Microsoft is showing diligence in supporting Apple Silicon . After bringing most of the Office suite in native version for Apple M1, the Redmond giant announced the arrival of the first Canary version of Microsoft Edge with support for ARM devices 64 of Apple .
You asked, and we delivered! 💪 Native support for Mac ARM 64 devices is now available in our Canary channel. Download it today from our Microsoft Edge Insiders website! https://t.co/qJMMGV0HjU

Just as happened with Word, Excel and the other applications of the Office suite, also with Edge there are evident benefits on the plan performance. The new version can be installed on all MacBook Air, MacBook Pro from 13 inches and Mac mini with M1 processor , on which the browser will no longer work in emulation but in a completely native way.
Previously, as with all applications developed for Intel microarchitecture, the Apple computers with M1 used the proprietary layer Rosetta 2 to translate the Microsoft browser code and make it edible for the integrated chipset. Now, however, Edge (in Canary version, therefore beta) can work natively with evident performance advantages.
Microsoft declares that the new version of Edge can be downloaded from the Insider portal, as it is not yet finalized. It should be kept in mind that Canary builds are the least stable ones, so more or less serious bugs can be encountered while running the software. In fact, using a Canary version as the main browser is definitely not recommended.
It is curious to note Microsoft’s interest in the new promising competitor platform. It took the company several months to implement similar native ARM 64 support for their apps on Windows 10, while she is showing definitely ready with Apple Silicon. We do not yet know, however, when native support for Apple Silicon will be publicly released in a finalized version for all users.
