ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 with Intel Tiger Lake and Intel DG1

Intel recently worked not only on Tiger Lake processors, but also the first dedicated graphics card based on the Xe-LP architecture. I am talking about the so-called Intel DG1, or in the literal sense of Discrete Graphics 1. The layout in terms of parameters will be similar to the integrated Iris Xe Graphics with 96 execution units. In addition, however, it will be equipped with its own VRAM GDDR6 memory – so far it has been talked about variants with 3 and 6 GB of memory. Until the launch of Tiger Lake processors, no laptop with a dedicated Intel card was revealed. The American branch of ASUS presented the VivoBook Flip convertible laptop 14, which will have on board not only Tiger Lake processors, but also an Intel DG1 graphics card.

ASUS presented the next version of the convertible VivoBook Flip laptop 14, which this time will be equipped with Intel Tiger Lake processors and a dedicated Intel DG1 graphics card.

ASUS ZenBook Test 14 with Intel Core i7 – 1165 G7. Tiger Lake premiere

ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 will be equipped with Intel Core i5 – 1135 G7 and Intel Core processors i7 – 1165 G7. For this we get a dedicated Intel DG1 graphics card, the configuration of the EU blocks is identical to the integrated graphics chip, placed with the Core i7 processor – 1165 G7. Here, however, there is a higher core clock frequency (1500 MHz) and its own GDDR6 memory, which will noticeably increase the throughput. This in turn will allow for better results in games where Iris Xe Graphics’ results are mostly blocked by low bandwidth. The new Intel DG1 will also compete with NVIDIA GeForce MX cards. Interestingly, the ASUS product card states that the Intel DG1 card will be equipped with 4 GB of VRAM. This is a different amount than previously thought (3 or 6 GB).

ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 will come with maximum 16 GB of LPDDR4x RAM 4266 MHz and an M.2 PCIe 3.0 SSD with a capacity of up to 1 TB. Optionally, there will also be Intel Optane Memory with a capacity of 32 GB. The rest of the notebook specifications are discussed in the table below. Unfortunately, we still do not know when the ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 will appear on sale, so we do not know the final price of the device.
