Bethesda is developing a new video game in the “Indiana Jones” universe. The publisher announced the new game about the super archaeologist in a short teaser on Twitter. Tangible information about the genre, game elements and the exact setting are still missing.

(Source: Bethesda) It is only known that the “Indiana Jones” game is developed by MachineGames. The Swedish development studio recently developed the games of the shooter series “Wolfenstein”, including the highly acclaimed “Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus” and the rather mixed “Wolfenstein Youngblood”.

Bethesda had already announced that MachineGames is working on “Wolfenstein 3”. To what extent the development of the “Indiana Jones” title has an impact is unclear. The Indiana Jones game is produced by Bethesda developer legend Todd Howard, who led the development of “The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim” and “Fallout 4”, among others.

New, old Lucasfilm label Das as yet unnamed “Indiana Jones” game appears under the label Lucasfilm Games, which Disney recently revived primarily for “Star Wars” games. Future video games in the “Star Wars” universe should appear under the new label. This seems to be primarily a marketing measure – there is no separate developer studio behind Lucasfilm Games.

It is open for which platforms the upcoming “Indiana Jones” game will appear. The choice of MachineGames as a developer seems to rule out the possibility of this being a title for mobile platforms. A release for PC and Xbox is therefore likely – Microsoft wants to complete the takeover of Bethesda in the first half of the year 2021. Microsoft has not yet announced whether Bethesda games will be released for the Playstation.
