New implications for the endless nightmare of CD Projekt RED . After removing Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store, and after the class-actions moved by the investors, the developer must face the Polish government itself, ready to take action against the company.

The work related to the corrective patches promised by the software house will be monitored by the Polish antitrust: in the worst case, CD Projekt will have to pay a fine rather salty .

Cyberpunk 2077 and patches of the 2021: CD Projekt cannot fail

According to the report released by the newspaper Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, the Office for Competition and Consumer Protection ( UOKiK ) targeted CD Projekt RED with the aim of checking the status of the work on upcoming patches by Cyberpunk 2077.

We remind you that, after the disappointing debut of the RPG on console, the developer had announced the arrival of two major updates that “should solve the most important problems” , in particular those found on the last generation platforms. The patches in question are planned for the months of January and February, at least according to the statements of CD Projekt.

The Polish antitrust therefore turned to the company to investigate the problems of Cyberpunk 2077, as spokeswoman Małgorzata Cieloch explains: “We will check how the manufacturer is working to make corrections or to solve the difficulties that make impossible to play on consol and , but also how it intends to act towards people who they complained and said they were dissatisfied with the purchase “.

If CD Projekt RED should take yet another misstep , the software house will receive a fine equal to 10% of revenues last year . The same Polish newspaper reminds us that, despite the obvious problems of the game, Cyberpunk 2077 sold over 13 millions of copies just ten days after the world debut (10 December 2020).

We will closely follow any developments, but one thing is certain: everything will depend on the release of the upcoming patches; CD Projekt cannot afford any other errors .
