In the last few days we have been talking about Cyberpunk 2077 and yet another postponement that postponed the release date about three weeks. A completely unexpected news given the recent Gold certification of the CD Projekt RED , but the developers themselves have talked about the problems encountered in the last tweaks intended for the nine versions of the game.

Let’s find out the possible reasons behind the postponement, through the words of the developers of the Warsaw studio.

CD Projekt RED clashes with current-gen consoles

On the occasion of a meeting with investors, last Tuesday Adam Kicinski spoke on the issue of the postponement of Cyberpunk 2077.

The co-CEO of CD Projekt RED provided further explanations on the latest decision of the Polish producer and, according to his words, the ‘blame’ has been attributed to the current generation consoles. Kicinski has in fact explained that “the game for PC is ready and runs well on next-gen consoles, the company is completing the process related to the consoles current-gen .

Put simply, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One by Cyberpunk 2077 have obvious problems in the eyes of the developers. Those 21 extra days will allow the team to improve the quality of the current versions -gen and to guarantee a single day one for all platforms.

We remind you that the game will not only land on PC and on ‘old’ and new generation consoles, but also on Google Stadia , where it will be accessible via the Mountain View Cloud.

Adam Kicinski: “The crunch? It’s not that bad

During the same call as above, the co-CEO of the software house also addressed the topic ‘ crunch ‘ and the controversy raised by journalists regarding the grueling working hours addressed by Cyberpunk developers 2077.

To report statements by Adam Kicinski and Jason Schreier, reporter for Bloomberg. Regarding the crunch phenomenon, the manager declares that “in reality is not the case evil and never was “ and points the finger at media that had ‘magnified’ this story. However, Kicinski admitted that some people have been working for many hours, but that most of the team have now finished their intended work.

It wasn’t many hours before Kicinski backed off. In an email obtained from Bloomberg, the executive of CD Projekt RED apologized for minimizing the problem of crunch: “I didn’t want to comment on the crunch, yet I did it, and I did it in a humiliating and harmful way” . Kicinski then added: “I have nothing to say in my defense. What I have said cannot be considered unfortunate, it was absolutely wrong” .

Controversy aside, Cyberpunk 2077 will be available from next one 10 December on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, PC and Google Stadia – as long as there are no further postponements.
