Rash launches of smartphones mean an increased risk of failures, errors and missing solutions. It is no different in the Apple world. The new models of the iPhone series 12 face a significant inconvenience, about which we can find out from the documentation intended for stores. However, this is not just another report, but the actual information, the authenticity of which is confirmed by the Cupertino giant himself. As the title shows, one of the problems that the first users of new Apple smartphones will face will be the inability to use the 5G network with the Dual SIM function active. Technologies seem to be incompatible with each other. However, this is about to change.

Apple iPhone series smartphones 12 working in Dual SIM mode cannot take advantage of the possibilities offered by the 5G network. How about Apple?

In documentation for retailers to offer in their stores, Apple iPhones 12, a rather unusual entry appeared. In response to the question whether the 5G network modem works with the Dual SIM function, we can read that after activating the support of the mentioned solution, the network is limited to LTE (or lower). This is quite a disturbing limitation, which for some people in selected markets may prove to be particularly severe. Fortunately, the problem is to be fixed in one of the future updates. In theory, the patch is expected to appear later this year.

Main differences in 5G network standards: mmWave versus Sub-6 GHz

This is not the first time that freshly launched flagship smartphones cannot be used to their full potential. These are the effects of rush, which is determined by predefined publishing plans. There are, however, two things that they can be happy about. First of all, we know that Apple intends to crack down on the lack of availability of 5G in Dual SIM mode. Secondly – the new data transfer standard is not yet very popular and the problem will not affect a large number of people. Additionally, to use 5G you need an appropriate tariff plan from your operator, which usually costs more than the basic subscriptions.
