Final Fantasy VII & Final Fantasy VIII Remastered: Two-pack box announced for the Nintendo Switch

Square Enix has now announced that both Final Fantasy VII and the remaster of Final Fantasy VIII will start in December 2020 will be available in a box version in a double pack for the Nintendo Switch.

In Final Fantasy VII, gamers slip into the role of Cloud Strife, who tries to save the world from the unscrupulous Shinra energy company. The former member of the elite unit SOLDIER receives support from the resistance group Avalanche, which fights for the life of the planet.

About 20 Years after the original game, the remaster of Final breathes Fantasy VIII brings new life to the characters and story of the classic. As a player you fight side by side with the SeeD recruit Squall Leonhart and the resistance fighter Rinoa Heartilly, who work together to save the world from the military nation Galbadia.

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered offers the the following features, which according to Square Enix should further improve the gaming experience:

  • Battle Assist ( Combat Assistant): With this feature, players have permanently maximized HP and ATB bars and can trigger limit breaks at any time.
  • No Encounters: With this feature, players can turn off random battles in order to enjoy the story undisturbed.
