News for users who have purchased one of the latest cameras produced by Panasonic ! The Japanese company has indeed announced the arrival of new firmware for series models Lumix S (mirrorless full-frame) but also for the model Lumix G 100 . Here’s what you need to know.
The new Panasonic firmware since 24 November 2020
From November 2020 the Japanese company announced that it will be possible to download the new firmware for the Lumix S1 (version 1.6), Lumix S1R (version 1.6), Lumix S1H (version 2.2) and for the new Lumix S5 (version 2.0).
Also in the first part of 2021 there will be an update for Panasonic Lumix S1 that po it will update the firmware to version 2.0, thus increasing performance and functionality. For example, you can manually activate the Dual Native ISO settings. Furthermore, by purchasing the DMW-SFU2 6 license, it is possible to activate the anamorphic mode, the timecode function and the V-Log recording. Also we will be transmitting RAW video data over HDMI to 12 5.9K / 4K / Anamorphic (4: 3) 3.5K bit on Atomos Ninja V monitors and internal video recording in 5.9K / C4K 4K 50 / 50 p 4: 2: 0 a 10 bit.
What are the news? The Lumix S1, Lumix S1R and Lumix S1H models have reportedly borrowed the autofocus technologies of the latest Lumix S5, thus improving their performance for people and subjects on the move.
This means there is not only eye-AF, face AF or for the person but also to recognize the head in relation to the body and improve focus even when the person moves quickly, turns his back or tilts his head. Continuous AF has also been improved. All these updates are then available for both photos and videos.

Lastly comes the free firmware for Panasonic Lumix G 100 that arrives to version 1.1 which thus has compatibility with the Lumix Webcam Software (Beta) application. In addition there is also a further modification to the display that allows you to automatically flip the images when you rotate the LCD screen after activating the appropriate items in the menu.
