Cloud services, which also act as an automatic backup, help here. We tested six such services: Dropbox, Google Photo, iCloud, OneDrive, Amazon Photos and Adobe Creative Cloud.

We also show you how to configure the services correctly and which pitfalls have to be considered.

With the exception of iCloud, all services can be used on both Android and iOS smartphones. In all cases, the data can be compared between the cloud and the PC using a browser or dedicated Windows and macOS clients. Dropbox is the only company to offer a Linux client. Four of the services can be tested free of charge over a longer period of time, Adobe and Amazon charge even for the smallest package after a few weeks at the latest.
