The corona pandemic is said to have accelerated digitization in general – but did that also happen in the education sector? During the first phase of the pandemic, schools were closed across the board. Only a few were able to offer digital lessons immediately. And later homeschooling models primarily obliged the parents to step in as auxiliary teachers. Many schools had to get creative quickly and come up with their own solutions.

Because of these rather sobering experiences, a lot has happened on the part of federal and state politics I promise – we are working on concepts that ensure safe teaching despite the pandemic even in the school year 2020 / 2021 should make possible. Funding funds were increased and some software and hardware were purchased.

But what does everyday life in schools look like? How much digitization has arrived in the classrooms? What support, further training and what equipment have teachers and students received? Has teaching become safer during the pandemic? And what can hybrid or real distance learning look like now? What is possible, what should have been possible by now?
