Huawei releases the first beta of the new HarmonyOS operating system: here are the smartphones that support it

As already anticipated for months, Huawei will abandon Android in favor of an internally developed operating system called HarmonyOS . The decision was influenced by many factors, including the continuing tensions between the US and China and the attempt to break free from Android.
December has arrived and, as anticipated during the Huawei Developer Conference 2020 , with him the release of the beta of the new HarmonyOS operating system. Huawei invites developers and users to try the beta available, guaranteeing that it will still be possible to return to the EMUI 11 .
The interface used is very similar to the EMUI 11 and Harmony quietly runs the Android apps . You can see the operating system running in the video below.
HarmonyOS: here are the smartphones that support the beta
The EMUI smartphones 11 that will receive support in the future there will be many, for the first beta version support is limited to a select few . The devices that today have the possibility of adopting the HarmonyOS beta are the flagship smartphones of the Chinese giant: Huawei P 40 , P 40 Pro , Mate 30 , Mate 30 Pro (and their 5G versions). Finally MatePad Pro , the only tablet capable of supporting the new OS.
Huawei made a contest for developer with prizes for a total of almost 200. 00 0 euros, in an attempt to incentivize new Harmony apps. Furthermore, the Chinese brand has released a IDE together with an emulator to simplify testing.
