Intel’s first stand-alone graphics card is based on the DGe graphics chip of the Xe-LP architecture, not the Xe-HPG architecture for gaming.

Intel is finally entering the market for stand-alone game graphics cards next year after a long wait. However, the credit for the title of the company’s first standalone graphics card can already be shared, as Intel has now officially released the Iris Xe MAX Graphics graphics card.

Iris Xe MAX Graphics is a separate graphics chip for laptops based on the low-power Xe-LP architecture. The same graphics chip is used in Intel’s DG1 development platforms and future server graphics cards.

Xe MAX Graphics has the same features as its integrated sister: 96 Execution Unit, 768 Computing Unit, 48 texturing unit and 24 BOB unit. The graphics circuit works at its best 300 MHz integrated version at a higher 1650 MHz clock frequency. The video bus’s memory bus is 128 bit and extends a little, especially 4 gigabytes of LPDDR4X – 4266 memory instead of GDDR memories. The graphics circuit has a TDP of 25 watts and is manufactured by Intel’s 10 nanometer SuperFin process

Intel is marketing Iris Xe MAX Graphics primarily as a performance solution focused on content production for compact notebooks. It supports Intel’s Deep Link technology, which is designed to combine the performance of multiple processors through a common software interface. Intel particularly praises the solution’s performance in AI and video compression.

The Iris Xe MAX Graphics graphics card can be found in stores immediately for the Acer Swift 3X, Asus VivoBook Flip TP 470 and Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Inside 2 in 1. Of course, you can also find Intel 11 in laptops. next-generation Tiger Lake codenamed Core processor with integrated Xe graphics controller
