More and more companies are launching hybrid business models with force distributed work, and in this context new smart collaboration technologies are continuously developed . The goal is to increase efficiency and reduce downtime, and in these cases the adoption of customized virtual monitors and 3D visualization of assisted management of workflows and training with Augmented Reality (AR) is essential. But how does Lenovo’s model work?

I Lenovo ThinkReality A3 connect to a PC (PC Edition) or select Motorola smartphones (all those using Snapdragon platforms 800 and later, or with DisplayPort functionality) via a USB-C cable (Industrial Edition). Versatile, portable and comfortable, Lenovo’s smart glasses wear like sunglasses and can be customized with optional industrial frames for added safety and durability. ThinkReality A3 are immersive, but do not isolate from the surrounding environment thanks to the use of AR technology. They are platform based Qualcomm Snapdragon XR1 and integrate stereoscopic displays at 1080 p, allowing the user to view up to 5 virtual displays . One 8MP RGB camera allows you to capture video up to 1080 p for the remote management of various specific workflows, while the two fisheye cameras enable the technology of room-scale tracking .

The glasses have been described as such by Jon Pershke , Lenovo Vice President of Strategy and Emerging Business, Intelligent Device Group:

Virtual monitors are optimized and compatible with leading Lenovo ThinkPad laptop PCs and mobile workstations with Intel and AMD Ryzen processors.

ThinkReality A3 Industrial Edition can be associated with selected Motorola smartphones to carry out hands-free activities supported by technology AR in complex work environments. The version Industrial Edition is supported by the software platform ThinkReality, which enables business users to build, deploy and manage mixed reality applications and content on a global scale, with worldwide support. The adoption of this technology in factories, laboratories, crowded retail spaces or in hospitals is possible thanks to specific certifications available on the ThinkReality platform to activate functions such as remote assistance, guided workflows and 3D visualization. . From today, business users and specialized technicians have at their disposal a set of light, flexible and adaptable smart glassess to improve productivity and safety by reducing the error rate on daily activities.
