When designing his new gaming mouse, Mad Catz claims to have used very different sources of inspiration. The BAT 6+ gaming mouse is intended to show elements of spaceships, super sports cars and Batmobile.

For readers who do not recognize the design references directly, Mad Catz also provides a more detailed explanation. According to the manufacturer, the side vents are based on the air intake optics of super sports cars. The interchangeable side wings are said to have been reminiscent of aggressive space fighters and the palm rest was ultimately inspired by the roof of a Batmobile. Functionally, the BAT 6+ was designed as a two-handed mouse, so it should appeal to both right and left-handers. Finger and palm rests are interchangeable and come in different sizes. The mouse can be easily adapted to individual preferences and grip styles. Mad Catz is confident that the BAT 6+ can be used in palm, claw and finger-tip grip.

The heart of the BAT 6+ is a proven PixArt PWM – 3389 – Sensor with up to 16 . 000 DPI. The total of ten keys can be freely assigned. As with the wireless RAT DWS, the new mechanical DAKOTA switches from Mad Catz are also used with the BAT 6+. A new signal acquisition technology should reduce the response time of the switches to less than 2 ms. According to Mad Catz, their own switches are 60% faster than other mechanical switches. The lifespan is specified as 60 million clicks. The internal memory of the BAT 6+ offers enough space for five different profiles. A new software called Mad Catz Cyborg Engine is used to set up the mouse. It was developed as a centralized solution for all compatible Mad Catz products.

The spaceship / super sports car / Batmobile mouse should be available at the end of February, but Mad Catz is still naming for the BAT 6+ no price.
