Emerging from the ashes of bankruptcy as a new company, Mad Catz has released an interesting new wireless gaming mouse. The RAT DWS is easily identifiable as a member of its product family and includes several non-mainstream features.

RAT DWS utilizes PixArt’s PAW 3335 DB sensor, optimized specifically for wireless mice, to ensure that the mouse reaches 16 000 for maximum DPI accuracy and a sustained 400 second rate and 40 Acceleration of G.

Mad Catz has selected the company’s own Dakota switches, promising a million-click duration for the main mouse buttons 60, which are praised for eliminating switch vibration and thus recording clicks faster than a traditional switch. Mouse specialties include a scroll wheel designed for horizontal scrolling and a Precision Aim button that changes the DPI by default. In total, the company calculates a programmable button in the mouse , but both scrolling directions of the rollers are also included. 4 different profiles can be stored in the mouse’s built-in memory.

The RAT DWS supports both 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth 5.0 connections and is promised a 2.4 GHz connection with a response time of up to 1 millisecond. The mouse is powered by a single AA battery, which is promised to last at best 200 hours at 2.4 GHz, or 300 hours via Bluetooth

The strategic dimensions of Mad Catz’s novelty are 113 x 87 x 38 mm and 113 grams. The mouse palm rest is adjustable and comes with not only an alternative palm rest, but also two different supports for the little finger. RAT DWS will go on sale in February, but the company has not yet disclosed its pricing.
