Like last year, Epic Games Store did not save money. We were regularly inundated with worse and better free games, both indie and AAA. As part of the countdown to the new year, it was decided to go a step further and you can pick up one title every day for free. After a quite strong yesterday’s throw in the form of the horror stealth Alien: Isolation (Alien: Isolation), this time we can go on a journey through the post-apocalyptic world in Metro 2033 in a refreshed version of Redux. The game was already given away for free by the Epic Games Store last year, but maybe someone missed the opportunity, so here’s another chance. The offer is very limited in time.

Epic Games Store is offering Metro for free on the sixth day of Christmas giveaways 2033 Redux, the post-apocalyptic FPS- and based on a Russian book of the same title by Dmitry Głuchowski. You only have 24 hours to add a game to your account.

Metro 2033 Redux is a new, improved version of the original Metro 2033 from 2010 years from 4A Games studio, which was founded by the co-creators of the STALKER series. The game was released on PC and new hardware platforms (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and this year also on Nintendo Switch) and visually refreshed with better optimization, and supplemented with all released DLC add-ons. The changes also include a stealth system that was ported over from Metro: Last Light.

Metro 2033 Redux received even higher marks among the reviewers than the original (the average ranges from 81 – 90%). Players rate both versions of the game similarly. The FPS tells the story of Artyom, and the action takes place in a devastated, post-apocalyptic world, mainly in the tunnels of the Moscow metro. During the adventure, we are constantly attacked by monsters lurking in the dark – the game is full of action, during which the corpse lays together densely, but there are also bloodcurdling scenes.
