Microsoft increases its turnover compared to last year, with an even greater growth in margins important: good results in all divisions but gaming and Surface

Has been a very positive quarter for Microsoft the one recently concluded, which coincides with the first 3 months of the fiscal year 2021 for the American company: Microsoft closes its balance sheet on 30 June of each year.

The turnover recorded an increase of 12% compared to the same period last year, touching stake 37, $ 2 billion . Net profit was close to quota 14 billions of dollars, up by 30% compared to the corresponding period of last year. The growth was generalized in all the divisions of the company, with particular emphasis, however, in that of Surface devices as well as in the sector related to gaming.

In fact, the growth in sales of Surface devices 37 was , while del + 22% that of the gaming sector. For the latter, strongly linked to the products of the Xbox family , a further positive impact is expected in the current quarter to reason for the release of the new generation of Xbox consoles in addition to the usual impact generated by the demand for the Christmas season.

In commenting on the quarterly financial results Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, stated: ” The economic performance achieved by each company over the next decade will be defined by the speed of their digital transformation. We are innovating across our technology stack to help our customers in every industry improve time-to-value, increase agility and reduce costs. “

The growth of continues Microsoft 365 : Personal Productivity Pack registered a + 27% compared to the same period last year. Good dynamics also for Office 365 Professional , package for companies: in this case the increase was 21% on an annual basis.

Also good the behavior of Azure , with a strong growth of 48% on an annual basis which is accompanied by growth general of products related to the world of servers and cloud ones with an increase of 22 %. Sales of OEM type Windows licenses decreased by 5%, as follows: growth of 31% in non-Pro licenses, typically therefore adopted in systems intended for the consumer public and of low cost, with a contraction of 22% in those of the Pro type.
