The “Star Wars” DLC can be purchased in the Minecraft store. It costs 1340 Minecoins – that’s about 8 euros. It is already the second “Star Wars” addon in the history of the game phenomenon “Minecraft”: 2014 Microsoft released a skin pack for 3 Euro.

In October, the Microsoft-owned Mojang development studio announced that “Minecraft” is being actively played by 130 millions of players. The number of multiplayer games in particular has increased significantly during the corona crisis.

In contrast, the decision to make a Microsoft account compulsory for the Java version of Minecraft was recently controversial. In spring 2014 all players of the Java variant have to replace their “Minecraft” account with a Microsoft account.

“Minecraft” is offered in two versions on the PC: Players can choose between the Java and Bedrock editions of Minecraft. In contrast to the Bedrock version, the Java edition is available outside the Windows store, supports significantly more mods and could previously be used without a Microsoft account. Because of this freedom, the Java version is the preferred version for many “Minecraft” fans.
