Nanosystems Smart Working
It does not happen frequently to see many studies and researches agree on one point, but on the smart working there seems to be no doubt: it is here to stay, even after the second wave of the pandemic has ended. When leading companies like Google, Microsoft or Twitter announce that they will extend smart working “for life”, it is inevitable that others will follow. Also because now employees see it as a benefit, a bit like a company car or meal vouchers: avoiding wasting hours in city traffic or even moving from large towns, to places where life is less expensive, are advantages to which few they would like to give up. This is demonstrated by the phenomenon of south working , a sort of reverse immigration, which sees many workers emigrated to the North return to live in the regions of origin, plus close to their families. If companies from now on want to retain their talents, they will also have to take this need into account and, consequently, organize themselves to introduce effective formulas for agile work, which allow them to guarantee productivity. Because the many researches published in recent months also agree on another point: employees like agile work, but most complain of a lack of support from their company, both in terms of technology and for the lack of assistance received from IT team.
Di Supremo we had already spoken in March, at the beginning of the lockdown that it has forced companies and workers to reinvent the way they work to ensure productivity even remotely. It is a remote desktop solution developed by the Italian company Nanosystems, which, thanks to a series of updates made in the last few months that we will analyze later, is now improved in terms of user performance and security.
Supremo, a secure, affordable and easy to use remote desktop solution
Among the many solutions for teleworking and for assistance and remote support, Supremo is probably one of the most efficient and simple to use : just download a file that weighs less than 8 MB and open it, without installing it. At this point, the user will be shown an identification code and a password that will allow him to uniquely track that computer and therefore to control it from all over the world, either via another PC (even with Linux or MacOS), or via smartphone or tablet.
The functions of Supremo
Supremo relies on ease of use, also with regard to license activation. As we anticipated, to use it just download a file of a few MB, which can then be copied on all the machines that you want to control remotely, as well as on the computers that you will use to manage them: the licenses will only be activated on the latter. Another very important aspect is the flexibility of the licenses : these are in fact not linked to the single machine, but regulate the maximum number of concurrent connections. For example, if a company decides to alternate teleworking with days in attendance, a license will not be required for everyone but only for the maximum number of people who will work simultaneously from home. If necessary, Supremo can be installed as a service, so as to start it automatically when the machine is turned on together with Windows to be always ready for use.
In addition to being able to control a remote PC as if you were in front of it, Supremo also includes some functions to speed up certain operations, such as file transfer, chat (which can be a very useful provide assistance) and a contact directory – unlimited and free – which can be shared among the various users.
Smart working is not the only scenario for using Supremo , which can prove to be a powerful tool for providing remote assistance: let’s think of a system integrator, for example, who can effectively support his customers with little expense. It is no coincidence that, in the paid version, Supremo allows you to customize the interface with your company logo, as well as offering an administration panel to keep statistics on usage sessions under control, a tool that simplifies the billing of interventions and offers useful insights to optimize processes.
The news of the latest Supremo updates are basically 3, two relating to usability and one to security. Alongside the legacy codec for video compression, one H is now available. 264, much more efficient . Its quality can be set on three levels, so as to adapt to even the slowest connections. From our tests, even connecting via LTE we have always managed to enjoy the highest video quality . The second novelty in terms of usability is related to reactivity and fluidity, now decidedly improved: if in the past we had noticed a bit of lag during use – even in the case of very fast lines – now this delay has been practically eliminated. , allowing to effectively use various types of applications. Finally, Supremo wanted to focus on security, introducing a new data encryption protocol.
A function that we found extremely convenient is that which allows, with a simple click, to change the resolution of the remote computer , which came in handy especially when we connected to the main PC via the small screen of the smartphone. It was also very convenient using a notebook to connect to the home desktop, equipped with an ultrawide screen and therefore not easy to use remotely without first changing the resolution to make it identical to that of the notebook.
How much does Supremo cost?
The use is free for non-commercial or non-continuous purposes, while if you want to use it for professional purposes, or to offer assistance to your customers or to connect to your PC in the office or in a graphic studio (eg
