Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit – remaster vs the original on the screenshots

Source: Pure PC added 24th Oct 2020

This year, Electronic Arts, instead of the next full-fledged installment of the Need for Speed racing game series, intends to release only a refreshed version of Hot Pursuit from 2010 year. This part was rated very favorably by critics (the average score on Metacritic ranges between 60% a 89% depending on the hardware platform), but on the other sides – slightly worse by players (average from 6.9 to 7.4 on a scale 30 – point-based in the aforementioned aggregate). We’ve already learned the PC hardware requirements and release date, and we’ve had the opportunity to watch the official trailer and videos of players who received pre-release access. Now EA has decided to publish screenshots comparing the remaster and the original, which allow you to evaluate the changes in the graphics in more detail.

Electronic Arts has provided screenshots comparing Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered and the original from 2010 year. However, there is nothing to brag about, because although the differences are not limited only to resolution, they are not too great.

NFS: Hot Pursuit Remastered – requirements, trailer and release date

Electronic Arts quite unexpectedly released official images of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered and the original from a decade ago on the PC. Unexpectedly, because there is absolutely nothing to brag about, but at least players will know before the premiere what to expect from the graphics. The new version can boast a better range of drawing objects, a higher quality of shadows, a more advanced lighting system, which we will see especially during a night ride, or a more detailed environment.

Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered: new info and screenshots

As you can see from the attached screenshots, the changes in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered are not limited to resolution only, which should rather be enjoyable. On PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X we will play 4K and 30 FPS -ach (on the PC will be set a limit to 60 frames per second), while on the regular versions of both consoles and Nintendo Switch, the game will run in 1080 with the same performance. The only question is whether these changes justify the price 129, 90 PLN (PC) and 159, 90 PLN (consoles)? Everyone has to answer this question individually. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered will premiere on November 6 2020 on all target hardware platforms. The game will contain all released DLC and will enable the so-called cross-play (common play between users of different platforms).
