New update: AGESA 1.1.9.0 for a more stable fabric cycle

As has recently become known, some mainboards with a built-in AMD CPU from Ryzen – 5000 – Series various stability problems. This applied primarily to users who increased the fabric clock (FCLK) to over 1. 600 MHz. In addition to the problems mentioned, this also limited the working memory as soon as synchronous clock rates were used. With a new UEFI firmware, AGESA version 1.1.9.0 is now arriving and is intended to resolve the aforementioned problems. AMD explicitly mentions that the stability is in the range from 1. 600 MHz to 2. 000 MHz increases significantly through the update. We therefore recommend that all power users be updated accordingly in order to ensure system stability.

In addition, the Windows energy mode S0i3 can be used with the update mentioned. The manufacturer also announced that fanless X 500 motherboards will be supported in the future.

According to AMD said BIOS is to be published in January and February 2021. Some manufacturers already offer a beta BIOS for their motherboards. In addition to the 500 series, this will also be available a little later for the mainboards with chipset from the 400 – series be the case.
