It should come as no surprise that the PlayStation 5 has support for both playing 1080 p and 4K , something that should not surprise anyone, especially after the power shown by both consoles of the new generation.
However, something that will surprise more than one Gamer is the lack of support for native rendering for resolutions other than these, as they would be 1440 p (2560 x 1440 p ) , confirmation that IGN Italy has officially received from Sony, where it is mentioned that, although 1440 p is quite a beloved resolution in the PC world, it is basically irrelevant for consoles.
This may be true in the world of televisions, but there is a part of the market that wants to play their console on the same monitor that they use for their main equipment , either for the privacy and comfort of the room where the latter is located or for any other reason.
However, it is not clear what The users of these monitors will find challenges when connecting a PlayStation 5 , because although it could be that the console works internally at 4K and does a rescaling to 1440 p which would certainly be beneficial for image quality, numerous monitors capable of displaying images may be wasted at more than 60 Hz but do not have HDMI 2.1 for mere unnecessary reason.
