We recently talked about the PlayStation 5 will not have native support to play games a 1440 p , although at that time we did not know on what resolution the console was going to base to adapt to a screen 1440 p. Finally, Sony has spoken and finally it seems that screen users 1440 p will see a scaled image from 1080 p.
As we can read in AV Watch, who interviewed SVP Hideaki Nishino and EVP Masayasu , the PlayStation 5 it will work this way because Sony wanted to focus on supporting televisions, but it drops that there are no technical reasons why it cannot be done and, therefore, they do not rule out that in the future support for 1440 p will arrive if there is sufficient demand.
On the other hand, the PlayStation 5 will not have a web browser that we can use as we had in the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, breaking this tradition about which Nishido doubts if it really it was necessary to have a browser that the user could use beyond the c capabilities required to log into WiFi networks or other tasks.
It is possible that removing the browser was one of the ways to reduce entry points to the system in the face of piracy , however that may be, there are no further comments on the matter.
