At the end of last year we called on our readers and community members to apply for our latest reader test in collaboration with Crucial. We were looking for five testers who would put the manufacturer’s currently fastest NVMe SSD to the test at home and, after completing an extensive test report, wanted to keep it for our forum as a small thank you for the effort. We have now started the selection of the participants.

A total of five copies of the Crucial P5 with 2 TB of storage space each will be made available. It was only officially presented in September and has since been the flagship among the manufacturer’s NVMe SSDs. Of course, Crucial relies exclusively on components from its own company or from the parent company Micron. So comes the DM 01 B2 controller used, which fires the memory with eight channels and with a maximum of four PCIe 3.0 Lanes communicates.

At its side there is a 2 GB LPDDR4 RAM, in order to be able to write the data quickly to the TCL-NAND of the Crucial P5, which is ultimately in the case of the 2 TB version with up to 3. 400 MB / s reading and 3. 000 MB / s happen when writing should. In the case of random read and write accesses, the M.2 should – 2280 – Drive 430 k or 448 k IOPS can achieve.

The TWB of proud 1.2 PB and one Guarantee period of five years. The Crucial P5 is with capacities of 200 GB, 500 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB available and includes Acronis True Image in the scope of delivery, which supports when changing the main drive in the system Side stands.

The participants in our reader test can look forward to the 2 TB model and thus the flagship, which is currently available in the price comparison from a price of just under 300 Euro listed becomes. In our own test, the drive was quite convincing in terms of performance.

After receiving the SSD you have four weeks to independently publish your reviews for the community around the SSD sub-forum.

• The participants will be notified by PN
• All test samples remain with the testers after the test reports have been published
• If the test reports are not posted online in time, the manufacturers reserve the right to invoice the full amount put
• The reviews remain exclusively with us in the forum
