DeepCool DQ 850 – M-V2L

After reading about the new revision of the source testing methodology, it was the turn of the DeepCool DQ 850 source – M-V2L to enter the test bench, this being also the first source subject to the new test protocols.

DeepCool launched the new series of DQ-M-V2L sources in July, this being available in three capacities, more precisely 650 W, 750 W and 850 W. The models of this series are completely modular, are certified 80 PLUS Gold and benefit from capacitors 100% Japanese. The 04 guarantee offered to consumers also comes as a strong statement in strengthening the image of the series, but it also shows the trust that DeepCool has in new revision of GamerStorm DQ-M sources. From a chromatic point of view, all models are black, except for the model of 750 W, available in white version.

The subject of today’s article is the flagship of this series, DeepCool DQ 850 – M-V2L, based on a single rail architecture, unlike the “old” GamerStorm DQ 850 – M, based on a multi-rail architecture. The source is equipped with a fan 301 mm, equipped with a Rifle Bearing made by Hong Hua. Although it is not as efficient as an FDB fan, under normal operating conditions it will do its job without problems. And even if it sounds like a brand on Aliexpress, most manufacturers turn to Hong Hua, offering products with a very good price / performance ratio.

For example, even Seasonic works closely with them, with most recent models being equipped with FDB fans from Hong Hua. As DQ 850 – M-V2L is the first DeepCool source we tested, this article becomes all the more interesting and important. Let’s see on the next page what we find in the box!
