Sigma fp (which means fortissimo pianissimo) is a compact full-frame mirrorless camera with interchangeable lenses. Its strengths are ease of use and a different user experience than other competitive models. Now the Japanese company has announced the arrival of the firmware 2. 02 with some news.

The new features of firmware version 2. 02

With the firmware 2. 02 , the Sigma fp fixes a bug related to RAW recording compressed to HDMI with using the Atomos NINJA V. This issue was showing incorrect ISO metadata in Final Cut Pro X (occasionally ) with ISO adjustments of 1/3 EV.

Always among the novelties of the firmware 2. 02 for Sigma fp there is an additional bug fixed. Users could see distorted images by pressing the shutter button to end recording with the electronic image stabilization system active and the shutter button function set to “REC” in CINE mode.

The technical characteristics of Sigma fp

The presentation of this model took place in July 2019 and its technology revolves around the sensor CMOS of type BSI backlit from 24, 6 MPixel . The AF is at phase detection while we find a variable sensitivity between 100 and 25. 600 ISO.

What impresses is the weight of 370 grams which, however, does not take away the possibility of using high-quality L-mount lenses made by Sigma (but also by other L-Alliance manufacturers). Other features report ai support RAW DNG to 14 bits beyond a burst to 18 fps . In the rear area, on the other hand, there is a large 3.2 “ touch screen surrounded by some function buttons. This is a small concentrate of technology that does not aim at large sales numbers but to intrigue occasional photographers who have a good budget at their disposal.
