As we can see in the Japanese publication GameWatch, Sony has announced that it will stop manufacturing the vast majority of the PlayStation 4 models currently on sale to leave only one model in production, something that will help the company allocate more manufacturing resources to the PlayStation 5 , which is currently facing a rather serious lack of stock.
Among the consoles that will be discontinued, we found most of the PS4 Slim (CUH – 2000) and all the PS4 Pro (CUH – 7000), leaving only the PS4 Slim of 500 in Jet Black color. The original PS4 (CUH – 1000) has already been discontinued , and the models in white (Glacial White), as well as in 1TB capacities , they have also stopped being manufactured, so they will only be available on the market as stock remains in stores.
Therefore, if we really want a PlayStation 4 of the aforementioned, it will be time to look relatively quickly any unit that interests us before they disappear from the stores, or alternatively, resort to second hand, although if the PS4 Slim seems adequate, we will continue to be able to acquire it new.
Since this whole operation is also designed to increase the production of the PlayStation 5, hopefully we can also get a soon, so depending on what we want, we can act accordingly.
