During the last days we have had several news related to the PlayStation 5 , where we have even been able to see the insides of the console, but something we did not know until now is that although the cooling system of the PlayStation 5 is quite capable, there will be software tricks behind its operation to obtain the best possible optimization.
Specifically, as we can see in The Verge, the turbine of 120 mm in diameter and 45 mm in width will be controlled by software, something that has been the case for years, but this time not only parameters such as processor temperature will be taken into account console.
In contrast, the operation of the cooling system will change over time, taking into account other parameters such as the game we are playing, as well as the values thrown by different sensors scattered around the console board , so the point is cut that not by having good temperatures in the console processor, we are safe, then other parts such as the console’s RAM or SSD may need more airflow at any given time.
As a curiosity, it seems that during the design of the console, airflow tests were done in the most manual way possible, with a transparent casing and dry ice that allowed us to see where the air was going at all times , so not only software simulations have been used to design this plan.
