It seems that the problems of Cyberpunk 2077 will continue to haunt players. After the removal from the PlayStation Store and the further wave of refunds, the overly ambitious RPG of CD Projekt RED runs into a new obstacle: save files. The latter will risk becoming corrupted (permanently) if they exceed the 8 MB limit, trashing dozens of hours of game accumulated with so much effort. CD Projekt RED commentary arrives.
CD Projekt RED warns: not accumulate too many items in your inventory
The problem related to corrupted bailouts has been reported by several users, but it was CD Projekt itself that confirmed its existence. The news was spread through the GOG.com help center, where the Polish developer offers an explanation related to this very serious bug.
“Unfortunately the save is damaged and cannot be recovered” , reads the page of support. How can you avoid running into this problem? Developer encourages players to use “ a previous save file to continue playing “; most importantly, it will be crucial “to keep the number of objects and materials low for creation” .
Apparently, Cyberpunk’s save files 2077 they will exceed 8 MB when we have accumulated too many items in our inventory . Being a role-playing game, in which we also find a crafting mechanic, you will easily run the risk of overloading with items of any kind. Unfortunately, file corruption occurs permanently: it will no longer be possible to recover the damaged save by freeing up space in the inventory.
Some users even used a glitch to duplicate the number of these objects , in particular that of crafting materials; if so, CD Projekt advises users to upload a save file where the glitch was not used.
The development team is working on a solution, but the ” victims “of corrupt saves will have to resign themselves: ” The size limit of the save files may be increased in one of the future patches, but the damaged files will remain so “.
In short, for Cyberpunk 2077 the nightmares don’t end there. We will follow any updates on the matter, hoping not to run into equally serious bugs.
