After our review of the MSI MEG Trident X 10 SF – 1043 we now also provide the big brother to the test. The MEG-Infinite-X series is aimed primarily at players who want to play the latest graphics cracker without restrictions and do not want to have any tinkering effort. We have the latest generation with Intel Core i9 – 10900 KF, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super and fast PCI-Express SSD and additional HDD extensively put to the test.
With the Infinite X, MSI has been offering a genuine desktop-class gaming PC for several generations, which is mainly based on the discerning but less tinkering high-end gamers. With it, MSI has a complete computer in its range, which is equipped with well-known high-end hardware and which actually only needs to be set up and wired. The Taiwanese of course rely on Intel’s Comet Lake processors, with MSI at least on the Core i7 – 10700 KF with eight CPU cores sets. In the top model, however, there is a ten-core Intel Core i9 – 10900 KF.
The integrated Intel graphics are deliberately omitted, as a fast, dedicated graphics solution from the GeForce RTX family works inside. The MSI MEG Infinite X 10 th relies at least on a GeForce RTX 2070 Super or GeForce RTX 2070 Super and is even already with the new RTX – 30 – Configurable cards. MSI does not fall back on the boring Founders Edition, but on the in-house custom models, such as the Ventus XS family with axial fans and slight overclocking. There are up to 64 GB DDR4 main memory, which is theoretically up to 64 GB can be drilled out, and a combination of fast PCI-Express SSDs and high-capacity magnetic storage hard disk. Depending on the model variant, there are two 1 TB SSDs in a RAID 0 array and a 3 TB 2.5-inch hard drive with SATA connection. The hardware is sometimes even cooled by a water cooling system.
Modern connections such as USB Type-C should not be missing on this high-end computer, nor are fast killer network chips or even an integrated WLAN and Bluetooth module . The housing comes from our own development and relies on a futuristic, angular look with black and red color accents – an RGB lighting system and a handle for the next LAN party should of course not be missing, after all, ESL is a partner. A clean Windows – 10 – Installation and the in-house Dragon Center for extensive configuration round off the overall package.
Depending on the equipment, you pay for the MSI MEG Infinite X 10 th between about 2 . 000 to around 3. 800 Euro.
