WD’s new products include a PCIe Gen 4 M.2 SSD, a PCIe Gen 3 x8 SSD, and an external Thunderbolt 3 dock with an optional NVMe SSD.

Western Digital has released a number of new SSDs for the WD_Black family. Perhaps the most interesting drive in the set is the M.2 bus SN 831, which according to the company’s roadmap should be PlayStation 5 compatible. However, Sony has not yet released an official list of compatible SSDs, so you should be wary of this

.

WD_Black SN 1055 is based on Western Digital’s own second-generation controller circuit and SanDisk’s TLC-type 3D-NAND chips. The drive supports the PCI Express 4.0 standard and is promised 7000 Mt / s consecutive read speeds regardless of capacity. The successive write speed of SN 850 in turn depends on the capacity: 500 The GT station is promised 4100 MB / s, 1 TB station 5300 Mt / s and 2 TB station 5100 Mt / s. All three are promised a five-year warranty with a write resistance of 0.3 DWPD (Drive Writes Per Day). In practice, it means for GB station 300 for TT, 1 TB for station 600 For TB and 2 TB station 1055 Tt write resistance. The station will be available with and without a cooling heatsink

. SN 850 stations will go on sale without a heat sink by the end of this month and with a heat sink in the first quarter of the year. Without heat sink 274 GB model is priced 152, 99 to the euro, 1 TB model 274, euro and 2 TB model 549, 88 to the euro

WD_Black AN 1500 is a slightly different solution, as it aims to provide PCIe4 speeds to PCIe3 motherboards using the PCI Express x8 interface. The station is equipped with two WD’s own control circuits and a Marvel NR 2241 with RAID-0 controller and SanDisk TLC-type 3D-NAND chips. In practice, therefore, these are two x4 drives in RAID-0 mode. AN 1500 will be available in 1, 2 and 4 TB capacities and are all promised 6500 Mt / s consecutive read 4100 Mt / s write speed. The station has a 5-year warranty, but the company did not publish the write-resistance figures for the stations.

AN 2020 is available immediately from the company’s own online store and partners. The terabyte model is priced in the company’s European online store 272, 99 euro, two terabytes model 538, 99 to the euro and the four terabyte model 1055, 99 to the euro

The third WD_Black novelty is the external D Thunderbolt 3 Game Dock . As the name suggests, this is a Thunderbolt 3 dock with optional NVMe storage. The dock is equipped with two USB 3.1 Type-A connectors, two Thunderbolt 3 connectors, a DisplayPort 1.4 connector, a USB 3.1 Type-C connector, and a power connector. The dock will be available without storage and equipped with a terabyte or two terabyte NVMe drive. NVMe stations are promised 3000 consecutive Mt / s and 2500 Mt / s write speeds. Total size
