As reported by Neowin, Microsoft has started forcing Windows update 10 to the owners of the version 1903 , also known as Windows 10 May 2019 Update. The decision comes one month (December 8) from the end of support, after which that version will no longer receive security updates.

The entry into the period defined “End of Life” (EOL) of this version of the operating system should have taken place some time ago, but due to the pandemic, Microsoft has repeatedly postponed the forced updating in order not to undermine individuals and companies grappling with the problems of smart working and a routine to be rebuilt.

The interesting aspect is that the forced update does not port Windows 10 from version 1903 to 20 H2 (October 2020 Update) but to the 1909 , which being a “minor update” should therefore not create problems for users – if they are a 22% on the entire Windows base 10 – which remained at the version 1903.

This choice also means that in a few months the PCs involved will receive another forced update , since the Windows “end of life” 10 1909 is not very far, in May 2021, at least for consumer users.
