Microsoft Windows
No surprise regarding the Windows known issues 10 20 H2 , also known as Windows 10 October 2020 Update, which was released on Tuesday evening. Microsoft has updated all support documentation available on the official website, and the known issues page indicates the same issues that were already present on Windows 10 20 H1 (o 2004, to be precise).
Below we report what is present at the time of writing:
- Errors or issues during or after updating devices with certain Conexant audio drivers
Devices with affected Conexant or Synaptics audio drivers might receive a stop error with a blue screen. - Errors or issues during or after updating devices with Conexant ISST audio drivers
Devices with affected Conexant ISST audio drivers might receive an error or have issues with Windows 10, versio n 2004.
Windows 10 20 H2 is basically identical to the version 2004 issued in the first half of the year. Compared to the latter it is only an enabling package, which precisely enables some features present but not activated on the version 2004. Among the novelties we have Edge based on Chromium installed natively, a new Start Menu with more “elegant” and less flashy colors, and other minor news. If you want to know how install Windows immediately 10 20 H2 without waiting for the roll-out you can find out by clicking on the link.
Deprecated or removed features on Windows 10 20 H2
Microsoft also updated the list of deprecated or removed features on Windows 10 , starting from version 20 H2. There are no deprecated features, with the latest version, but the MBAE metadata service has been removed. Again there are no sensational surprises.
