Qualcomm introduces a new mid-range Snapdragon 678 CPU without 5G
Source: Hardware Luxx added 16th Dec 2020Just recently Qualcomm introduced its new flagship processor Snapdragon 888 in front. Now the chip manufacturer is expanding its range again, this time with a new mid-range CPU called Snapdragon 678. The processor comes with 8 cryo – 320 – cores, each with a clock rate of 2.2 GHz. An Adreno 600 GPU is available for graphics power. The SoC supports a camera setup with either up to three cameras on the back with up to 48 MP or a single sensor with a maximum of 192 MP. The display resolution goes up to FHD +. In contrast to its big brother, the Snapdragon 678 does not support 5G. But an X Download rates of up to 510 Mbit / s in the LTE network enabled. The upload is a maximum of 150 Mbit / s in it.
The chip is in the 11 nm process and should be found in the first mid-range smartphones from established manufacturers at the beginning of next year. Exact candidates are not yet known. Detailed technical data can be found on the Qualcomm website.
