3 products in one: fan, purifier and humidifier

With its operation it actually takes care of the air contained in our domestic environments , purifying it and checking its correct humidity level. However, for a humidifier it is important that the water inserted in the appliance does not itself become a vehicle for the proliferation of bacteria in the domestic environment. To remedy all this, P ure Humidify + Cool implements a UV-C light system that damages the bacteria present in the water denaturing their DNA so that they can no longer multiply. This process occurs in a picosecond (one trillionth of a second), but requires full exposure to UV-C light.

Dyson engineers conducted extensive research to determine which was optimal exposure to UV-C light to denature bacteria, developing a highly reflective PTFE tube through which UV-C light is reflected on the entire internal surface. When water is pumped from the tank through these multiple rays, the UV-C light kills the 99, 9% of the bacteria present in the water already in the first pass . The 5-liter capacity tank ensures operation in humidification of the environment up to 36 consecutive hours, not requiring to be constantly filled.

Once treated, the water fills the collars of the 3D Air-mesh evaporator . Silver threads are woven into the top and bottom face of the Air-mesh to create its unique structure and provide biostatic properties, inhibiting the proliferation of bacteria on the evaporator. Due to its biostatic properties, silver has been used for over two centuries in surgery, during deliveries, as well as for the treatment of burns and water disinfection. Inside the evaporator, the purified air flow is hygienically humidified by the water vapor released by the evaporator and diffused into the environment through the Air Multiplier.

In Pure Humidify + Cool this is achieved by using lasers that measure and detect ultra-fine particles, while a separate sensor detects the amount of VOCs (volatile organic compounds), such as benzene and NO2. A third sensor measures the relative humidity and the temperature: all the monitored information is then shown in real time through the LCD display integrated into the device.

Nine meters of microfiber filters of condensed and sealed borosilicate capture the 99, 95% of ultra-fine pollutants down to 0.1 micron, including allergens, bacteria and pollen. Activated carbon, coated with Tris (Trishydroxymethylaminomethane) increases the absorption efficiency, by removing gases such as NO2 and benzene which are particularly harmful to humans .

Air filtration turns out to be a very useful function in the house when cooking us: it is not the air we breathe it will be purer, but the inevitable odors resulting from the hours spent in front of the stove will be removed . This is one of the most appreciated features in products of this type, capable of changing the quality of life at home when many hours are spent there.

Regarding the ventilation functions, Dyson has implemented Jet Axis Control technology which uses two independently controlled jets for each side of the air amplifier. This design approach allows to provide direct cooling useful in the summer months, an oscillation mode, a diffused air mode useful in the winter months or the new Breeze mode, which through an algorithm is able to imitate natural air flows through the oscillating barrels of the appliance to reproduce that same feeling of refreshing breeze inside the enclosed spaces.
