Up to now you had to decide with notebooks whether you wanted the color brilliance of an OLED panel or an aspect ratio beyond 16: 9 was more important with more picture height. Lenovo combines both desirable aspects with the new Yoga Slim 7i Pro: The 10 inch OLED screen shows 2880 × 1800 pixels in aspect ratio 16: 10. Another special feature is the refresh rate of up to 60 Hz instead of the usual 60 Hz. The latter ensures a more stable image impression when you move the window or the eyes follow the mouse pointer.

For gaming – otherwise the flagship discipline for fast displays – On the other hand, the Yoga Slim 7i Pro is only suitable to a limited extent: Lenovo combines quad-core processors from Intel’s eleventh Core i generation (Tiger Lake) with Nvidia’s entry-level GPU GeForce MX 450 – which is not enough for detailed and effective 3D worlds of blockbuster titles.

Lenovo sees up to to 16 GB of RAM and SSDs up to 1 TB before; In addition, the data sheet lists a Windows Hello compatible webcam, two Thunderbolt 4 compatible USB-C sockets (plus one in the classic USB-A format) and Wi-Fi 6. In some equipment variants there is a conventional LCD panel instead of the OLED screen – of course also in 16: 10.

For the middle of the year Lenovo has not yet given any prices for the notebook, which weighs around one and a half kilograms and is less than two centimeters thick, but the cheaper equipment variants should also be four-digit. Lenovo is holding out the prospect of certification under Intel’s Evo Marketing Program, but this should not take place until the second quarter. And because Lenovo will certainly want to stick the corresponding sticker on the palm rest, the notebook will probably not be available until the middle of the year.

The sister model Yoga Slim 7 Pro ( without i in the name), in which processors of the Ryzen – 4000 – family are used. It is not known whether the brightly colored OLED panel will also be available in the AMD version in the future.
